A new law passed in California says that police must screen every new porno to see if the males are using condoms...

I just don't know how to respond.

Under the new law, producers have to submit unedited copies of their adult films to the Simi Valley Police Department for review.
It would seem to follow, then, that if the law works as intended, cops or other law enforcement officials will be spending part of their shift watching porn to make sure the actors are wrapping it up.

A spokesperson for the Simi Valley police department did not immediately return a call for comment from The Huffington Post.

But Edward Arenas, CEO of Naughty America, told HuffPost the new law is "absurd."

"I'd have to look into that," Arenas said after being told of the new ordinance. "But that seems pretty absurd."

The law comes in reaction to a recently passed rule requiring adult film actors to use condoms in pornography shot within the Los Angeles city limits.

As RT reports, Simi Valley officials were concerned porn studios would move their productions from Los Angeles into their backyards.

"The primary purpose here is it's a health and safety issue. And secondarily, we don't want them here," Simi Valley Mayor Bob Huber said after introducing the law. "This is a family-oriented community, and we don't want them setting up their studios in Simi Valley."

The Los Angeles ordinance relies on spot checks at adult movie studios to make sure producers are complying with the condom rules.

Arenas said his customers don't want to see actors using condoms because they "take away from the fantasy aspect" of the movies. He also said the producers he's talked with doubt the Los Angeles law will have any real impact.

"There's not enough resources to police and enforce those laws," Arenas said. "A lot of production is done in private residences in a day or a half-a-day. People just pack up and move on to the next location."

Well it would be the shortest 14 year old's job ever. Because I beilvie masturbating on the job in a public building is very much illegal. So the job would not last long for a 14yold lol.

As for the porno and condoms. I don't really care about this simply because for one I don't live in California and two don't watch porn. I mean sure it could be an issue but hey, the laws an ass and that's what it will always be.

Condoms are probably the safest protection against STDs we have during sex other than abstinence. They're not 100% effective but I doubt many people have contracted STDs while using them unless they're either using them wrong or they've split but yeah, can you provide proof?

You can contract HIV from other places/bodily fluids of the infected partner, during sex. Syphilis can occur from direct skin contact, not involving sexual parts. Same with Herpes.

I can make an exception to Gonorrhea, since it directly infects the tracts.

Do you want to avoid STD? Do with someone who doesn't have. It's not that hard to go and perform an STD test.

Yeah.. Condoms are designed to stop it coming from the sexual organs and fluids, they're not designed to stop STDs from other parts of the body that doesn't make them useless. I'd rather take my chances with a condom and lessen my chance and of course not become a father. And i also wasn't bringing tests into it i was merely stating condoms are not as useless as you seem to think. They help prevent it in the way they were created to do.

Wait, what are you saying? The government isn't going to watch anyone film the porn, and they aren't going to you yourself have sex. They are going to review each porn movie before it gets released onto the Internet to make sure the males are wearing condoms.

And with that being said, why would they check gay and lesbian porn when there is no danger of the consequences of unprotected sex? And besides for that, I think the whole idea of making sure they are wearing condoms is ridiculous. Watching a porn movie where the males are wearing condoms aren't going to make anyone change, since the viewers will probably be occupied with other things. No fucking point.

What I am saying is that the fact that this law exists is absurd. Couples who tape and distribute may feel as though their sexual rights are being limited. That is what I mean by "keep gov out of the bedroom"

And wether this is Disney or Pornagraphy, that would be like saying "any childrens movie must discuss why global warming is bad." they would say it was out of concern for the health of the planet.
