Flying Nonrev?

Does anybody here have a pilot in the family and get to fly nonrev? My dad works for JetBlue and we fly places all the time (on JetBlue it's free, in other airlines there's a discount) but the hitch is that we can't reserve seats. Its exciting though, being able to hop on any flight and go somewhere. But the annoying thing is when paid passengers suddenly show up and we can't get on the plane. So on Thursday, when we're leaving Florida, the flights are filling up so we might be stuck here until Monday. Because it's nigh impossible for us to fly nonrev on weekends and Fridays.
