I made a promise with my counselor. If I don't cut he won't tell my parents. It is SO hard trying to keep that promise. The thing is that I can't find another way to cope that has the same effect. I want to stop, I really do but I feel so vulnerable when I don't cut. Whenever someone says or does something to me if I'm not going to cut I can't tolerate it. I feel so weak mentally and physically.

It's great that you decided to speak with him and agree to this. That takes a lot of courage, so congratulations on that!

Find something you've always wanted to do, and just go start doing it. Whether it be a big project, writing, anything you can think of to keep yourself occupied. And when you feel a urge, just immediately block it out. Run to be in the same room with someone, start texting, anything.
Even come on here and talk about how you're feeling.

Don't feel vulnerable. You are making progress. You should be determined to continue, and it doesn't hurt to be proud of yourself, because you should be.
