I have a horrible habit of picking at my scabs and I hate it. I have recently decided that I'm going to stop it, but my arms are still covered in scars from where the scabs were. I hate walking in a short shirt (which is very hard since I do a lot of sport) and I really don't know how to hide the scars :S help!

I figure the scabs are from cutting? You didn't exactly make that clear.
To hide them, well if you do a lot of sports could you not get some long sleaved thermal top underneath? I know a lot of the boys in my schools wear them... and now I see you're in south Africa and think about the heat compared to England...
You could always try makeup, I know, not very manly but if you want to cover them up then it could help reduce the colour therefore people seeing. Also oils, Vitamin E I reccomend, it helps scar tissue and should have them a little less faded if you use it every day.

I should have elaborated... I do not cut myself, but I scratch itchy bites more than I should forming scabs which I scratch till they bleed. I do not know why I do it. It is addictive and I hate it.

Ah, right. Is there anything that makes you want to scratch? You could have a skin condition? Have you been to see a doctor about it because they could prescribe you creams. I have eczema and am prescribed hydrocortisone which if you're over 18 you can also buy from a pharmacy/chemist.
I suggest you get it checked out though.

Yeah pretty much sums it up. Try to keep the cuts etc covered with a dressing, it will keep it clean, and can help stop you picking with it.

Rub some soap on the bites. It will sting, but it won't itch at least.

Yeah, cover it up. That should stop you picking. I have the same problem. Also, with your existing scars, vitamin e oil works but you have to use it consistently to see results.

I put little dot bandaids over each bite I have. It stops me from scratching, it is as annoying as hell but at least I don't get scars. You could try that.
