View Full Version : Girlfriend...
Awkward

So when I was 10 I had a girlfriend who was 8 and it ended when I was 11 1/2 and she was 9 1/2.
Recently I've begun to talk to her and found out that she "Hasn't been out with anyone becuase she is waiting for me again". She lives quite far away but I could meet her a lot.
I think you know why I'm asking this question; she's 13 1/2 and I'm 15 1/2... Is it ok?

I think it's okay if you're both willing to work for it. I mean 13 and 15 is very young to have that kind of relationship that is exlusive, especially if you live quite far away. There is no harm in trying it out though.

Are you asking about the age difference? In general I've always gone by the two year rule. However currently I'm 16 and my boyfriends 19 there's a 2 year 5 month age gap but it still works.
However you've got to remember dating at 10 is a lot different to 15. And you might want more of a physical relationship than she's prepared for.
There's nothing wrong with a relationship with her just make sure you think about things first.

Yeah I always look at it upon two years either side so I would say your good. Mabey thought get her to check with her parents if she is worried. Apart from that sounds like your all good :)

2 years up or down from your age is fine. Being 15 and in high school is different than being 13 and in middle school and you're going to have to talk about what your expectations for the relationship are. If you guys are going to openly date you're also going to have to take into consideration what her parents might think...I know the age difference isn't that big but some parents just don't like the idea of their kid dating someone older. The final thing you're going to have to consider is the distance.
I say go for it. You never know what could happen. It might work out it might not. You won't know if you don't try though. :D

Well I think it wouldn't be a problem but your difference in
Maturity might cause farness, if you know what I mean

Age is only a number.
Unless of course the age gap is ridiculous. Then it's a problem.

I have to agree with everyone here. The age gap is fine. Just be careful. You're opening yourself to humiliation from peers for dating someone 2 years younger, especially if she's still in middle school.
Also, don't go looking for a physical relationship. Not only is this a bad thing for any relationship under 18 (and I'm talking a pure physical relationship), but it's worse since she's so young. Just be a nice caring person to who and I can hope it works out fine.

Over here we only get 2 schools; at age 12 you start your second school, high school :p
And of course this wouldn't be a physical relationship! I don't want anything like that... Yet.
