It's going to hurt him no matter what way you do it. Obviously don't get all harsh on him or inconsiderate of his feelings because I said that. Just there really isn't a way to do it without hurting him.

if it was me, i would want to know the truth. yes it would be hurtful and i would probably be angry, but at least i would know the full story and would be able to move on knowing that it wasn't anything about me that caused the break up.
