I grew up to Trent Reznor's music so he's always been a favorite. Most industrial fans think he's pretty much the "sell out rip off" of the genre, but the irony is most industrial lovers have NIN as their guilty pleasure. As cliche as it is to say it I think The Downward Spiral is the best album he made and people need to focus more on the other tracks than "Closer" and "Hurt". His recent stuff that he's been making for films are perfecto though, pretty much the stuff I've always wanted him to make - especially with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Trent needs to keep making more ambient music because it's what he does best.

I don't listen to his music as much as I used to, but I still appreciate the influence he's pushed on me musically and emotionally.

Hell yes! Trent pours out his emotions into the songs. My favorite albums are With Teeth and Pretty Hate Machine, but The Downward Spiral, Yr 0 and The Fragile are also awesome albums. I'm not really a fan of the more experimental/electronic stuff, though.

Dude... I fucking love you.

My response, my mom used to always blare it in the car, and what not. Teenage cousions played Trent all the time. I really admire his music. As far as NIN, I loved Downward Spiral the best by far. I also quite admire his solo work, I am utterly obsessed with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and his soundtrack for the film made it just that much more orgasmic. My favorite song growing up was Hurt.

Love NIN, I was introduced to them through Marilyn Manson back when I first found them. I just recently got a physical copy of The Fragile and that has been frequenting my car stereo quite a bit. I've got their entire discography on iTunes but only three albums of that I obtained legally. :3 I do download most of my music but only so I can really know if I like them, then I pay the money for a physical copy for the musicians that deserve my money. I'm still working on getting the last five albums.

What's sad is Reznor isn't even experimental at all. The farthest he's ever gone down that realm was with the most recent film score using ambient/drone. Just about everything he's done has some electronic influence also. That shouldn't be hard to notice. It's on every one of his albums. If you find Trent Reznor to be challenging, shit, have fun in that tiny hole of alternative music.

It does suck that he isn't touring anymore for NIN. He has a wife and I think he's going to be a father now. The visuals of them live are seriously the most orgasmic stuff you could of seen at a cheap price. I mean the only thing close to it imo is The Wall tour(s) but those are expensive as fuck.

Dude... I fucking love you.

You don't want to love me, you'll catch something sick.
