Ok, my Australian service provider, Telstra, has this whole way of getting back at users. If you go over download limits etc, they slow your internet so badly that you cannot download anything, nor watch movies on sites like youtube or anything. You can barely load pictures in Google either.

So my question to you is: what can i do to bypass this slow internet? (The internet connection is excellent but it goes slowly). Is there anything i can do at all to speed it up?

Thanks

Well if your isp slows it down, then no. I would just sign up for a new isp or downloads less so it lasts you the month.

We have a service provider here that turns off your service if you go over your limit
i would say get a different ISP, or upgrade your service to a plan that doesn't have a limit.

I have a 40gb limit at my dad's but at my mum's we only have 6gbs at the moment, but if we go over it justs costs more, it doesn't slow down or anything though.

We're at 3.3mb/s at dad's, at mum's only 512kb/s, we're getting it all sorted out soon though! (I hate British Telecom! (BT))

OR you could get an external hard drive and store everything you download in there

How would an external hard drive help things?

Lol i agree with andy, an external harddrive will give you more space for your downloaded things but you're still downloading from the Internet and your isp can still track it.

Ahh Telstra suck, they are overpriced and they aren't very efficient in some ways, for the price it isn't worth the negatives
Switch to Internode or Peoples Telecom
http://whirlpool.net.au/
That site there is very good to find an ISP
