Hello everybody,
Well... I am just going to start by saying I hope I am posting this in the proper place. But none the less, let me get started.
This summer, a friend of mine (He lives in Wisconsin) and I wanted to meet up for about two weeks and just hang out. The problem here is my parents both hate him. It sucks for me since he is my best friend. He's been here for me more than any other friend I have, and he just is a good person with great qualities and goals. You may be asking why my parents hate him so much if he is such a good person. Ha, well, lets just say him and I have had some sexual encounters in the past (really just experimenting) and my parents found out, as did his. His parents don't think any less of me... yet alone, they understand what happened and we all were able to work through it. Anywho, now that you guys have some background information as to why they hate him. I feel like if I am able to get over it and him and his family were able to get over it, my parents should bite the bullet and try to accept him.
Now back onto the topic of him coming out here for two weeks. His parents are willing to let him come out here for two weeks without much thinking. The problem is just my parents. My friend says that he wants to come out regardless and will find somewhere to sleep if he must (I am kinda shaky on that. Many things can happen to him and isn't a great idea in my opinion). I just need to convince my parents to let him sleep here at the house for the two weeks. Any suggestions there?
I was thinking about bringing it up to my mother today with something like, "Well, have you ever had a friend that meant a lot to you but your parents just wouldn't let you hang out anymore?". I really don't know, and I am stumped. As I said, he's my best friend (not that I don't have any friend here :P) and I really want to make this happen.
