I got Microsoft Flight simulator X and Flight simulator 98, I want to get the newest one, but then I forgot the name of it. I'm just glad flight simulator 98 is one of the few games by Microsoft that I can run on Linux.

Haha I was like that at first... I used the autopilot heading hold and altitude hold to land :eek::eek::eek:

Now I have my joystick (and found the trim buttons!!) I'm a lot better now, can land almost on the centerline from the cockpit now :D

I never thought of heading hold!!!!

I've never understood trim. What is it? What does it do?

I don't have a flight simulator, I wish I did... I like flying my grandpa's cessna though in real life, but landing is really hard...

It means you don't have to constantly hold the yoke to keep the aircraft pitching up or down.

Goto the learning centre or there is a lesson where it talks about it.

Btw, I have FS2004 and FSX.

Smeagol: (I forgot to multi quote) microsoft flight simulator 2004 is quite cheap on amazon (assuming you have a windows computer: XP, vista or 7)

I used to have FSX but don't really play much any more. I would love to have like a warfare realistic flight sim.

Downloaded from the internet, joined a VA and I even own about 7 payware planes and 2 payware sceneries and I'm waiting for a new scenery and two new planes to come out

I tried one of those flight simulaters once, and it occurred to me that I would've been a great Kamikaze pilot.... :P

Which VA are you with? (I just signed up for Air-source, which gives me flexibility in flights.)
What payware have you got?

I would love to try flying with the full throttles/yoke set. I just have a basic joystick with a wee mini throttle on the side... thrustmaster brand...

And I agree Flight is not a "simulator" of any kind, it's a game...

Been playing since fs2004 came out and still play both fs9 and fsx. Also do some occasional repainting and now I'm working as the a modeller on a project making an airplane for fsx.

Agreed. It's a huge insult so I'm not buying it.

Theres is one over at flightsim.com for FSX.
Side note: They've just updated the site but the search facility hasn't changed.
