Spanish is mandatory
French is an after school club.
If you ask me Latin should be mandatory instead, because Latin is the connection language toward many other languages like Spanish, English, and Italian.

Unfortunately my school is cheap and poor, so the only foreign language class avaliable to take is spanish. If you want to go to a four year college it's mandatory to have two spanish credits.

Just Spanish. I go to a small rural high school in Southeastern Arizona, so there aren't a lot of students here, and since we are only 50 miles from the border with Mexico, there is a large Hispanic community and also there are lost of migrant farm and ranch workers here who come up from Mexico, so Spanish is the only foreign language my High School offers.
