I have heard that almost every girl has experimented with a girl before , but do guys ever experiment also? How common is it for guys? My best friend is straight, and he and I experiment together. The fact that he knows I am gay may have something to do with it, but I truly believe that if I were straight, he and I would still fool around.

One can say it is common, you wont find people talking about it unless they are talking about it online though. I'm sure if you were with most of your friends when they are alone eventually, sometime, the subject of masturbating will come along and then things would just start "poppen" from there on. I feel as if the older that you get, the more difficult things become for you to experiment. People fall into thinking about trust and if trust is broken then dealing with the ridicule of the people around you even though they probably have done it before.

I understand where you are coming from. I agree that girls experimenting is more accepted than guys experimenting. I myself really can't comment on the other posts comments stating that guys experimenting with other guys is common. I am sure that it happens more often than someone may think and that it is kept in secret, just because it is more taboo that girls experimenting.

I concur, experimentation is highly common among boys, but the publicity of it is much more concentrated, which I think stems from fear of judgment, etc. I think experimentation is completely normal and acceptable.

I have never yet expierenced with a friend before. Based on my observations, society encourages girls to bond ,( with other girls) male bonding on the other hand, has been and probably will always be a Societal Taboo.., unfortunately( think about it). Just ,look around or take a moment to listen to how people speak when talking about male bonding. Male bonding is usually the subject of many jokes. Bromances, which is something that I think is great, (and I am straight) is usually talked about in demeaning and is the subject of many jokes, many of which originate from women. Yet rarely does one hear a joke about women’s night out, or best girlfriends.

It's normal if you do, and it's normal if you don't. From my experience it's pretty darned common, too. As to why it seems to be more acceptable for girls than for boys, I don't know. But I do know it isn't by any means a new taboo. I think that historically guy-guy sex has been more taboo than girl-girl sex. The Old Testament speaks out against guy- guy sex but doesn't say a word about girl-girl sex. I read somewhere that in Victorian times when laws were passed against male homosexuality in England, Queen Victoria didn't feel the need for similar laws for females because she couldn't imagine women doing that.
