I think I may stump a few people on this one.
I downloaded minecraft and tried to log in. It updated blocks and all that jazz but then the window just closed and in my downloads I found an error file for java.
I have the latest version of java so I don' know how this works.

Any suggestions

When these logs happen, they tend to be due to video card errors. Have you ever played Minecraft on any other machine before or is this the first time? If this is the first time, try updating your video drivers, and if you aren't sure how to do that you can contact me, and I'll try and help you update them if you are unable to ^_^
Also, if you are playing on Windows 8 then it seems these logs happen to many people. I got an error like this when playing on Windows 8 Developer Preview.

Yeah, check if your drivers are up to date. Check the downloads on the manufacturer website for the latest version and install that one if it's newer than your driver. I have a lot of driver issues myself with playing games. I can't actually update my drivers because Dell is stupid, and it completely halves performance in Minecraft, WoW, etc.
Vanilla Minecraft right?

Yeah. My friends have told me to update my video drivers, but when I check my device manager, it tells me that they are up to date. Could it be because my graphics cards are just shit. I'm running Intel HD graphics and windows 7 if that's any help.

What version is it? The latest Intel drivers are 15.26.5.64.2656.
Do you have a Dell by any chance? :P If you don't, just go to Intel's website. If you do... I haven't figured it out yet. Mine is 8.15.10.2104 which is the latest Dell has to offer and Dell won't let me install Intel's drivers but Dell's for my model are from 2010. I'm just going to to get a new computer... without an Intel graphics card.
Intel HD Graphics fucking sucks. I'm sorry you have to go through the same pain.
