I base the success of a film from the plot and how well the actors act. (I'm pretty snobby.)

Hm...I'm actually not sure how I differentiate good films from another, It's 4:30am, I might have a better answer when I'm completely awake.

What do you mean by "sums up"?
My favorite film is Requiem For a Dream, just because it's...intriguing.

The plot doesn't matter to me as much as the ability of the author/director/actors to make me feel attached to a character. If you can get me to feel strongly about a character, whether love, hate or whatever, you can have the most idiotic plot ever, I will read it just to see what happens.

The plots validity in this life, how it can be related. For example, it can't be completely oblivious to Animal Instinct like the Hunger Games.

Also, how well it relates to me. Something that makes you think of a mystery in the movie, not how nice it was for these two people to finally be together.
