For those of you who don't know what's going on. The protest is a day of silence for those who believe in LGBT, where you put tape over your mouth.
My school isn't allowing people to put tape on their mouths. So idk what they are going to do. I'm not gonna participate. I know I can't not talk for a whole day haha, it would be a miracle if I did  lol

I fully support LGBT but honesty, putting tape over your mouth for a whole day? It seems rather pointless/useless.

It's trying to be deep and symbolic, because apparently LGBT persons are being silenced. Which is true, albeit a bit corny. Being part of the LGBT community...I can't help but feel almost pressured into going to these marches/events just to support the cause. I'm not going to participate because there's other matters to focus on instead of social issues.

But if I put tape over my mouth how will I smoke all of that weed?

But on a more serious note, no I will not be participating in that. I fully support LGBT and I guess I could call myself a part of it too, but I think putting tape over my mouth is just uncomfortable, I don't like the feeling, and I will not ever do it again. Unless I'm kidnapped and they duct tape my mouth shut, though.

I'm not sure about deep and symbolic, but corny certainly came to mind.

At my old school, which was very Christian. We did that for abortion and within 30 minutes I said fuck this and took the tape off, 30 minutes after I did 5 others did too xD

Silence is the most retarded (for lack of a better word) form of protest. Seriously. You aren't going to get far with that unless you're holding valuable information that is demanded by a large group of people.

I support LGBT but did not attend. In fact, I would have given a rant to anyone today who I witnessed participating.

Sorry, my dirty mind kicked in. That sounds dirty. :P

I didn't participate, even though I do support the LGBT.

My school's Gay Straight Alliance Club host a Day of Silence like twice a year, the thing is, our gay students dont really get much crap here, some of them are actually really popular, which is odd cause I live in the red state of Kansas.

But I dont participate, I focus my attention on other social issues like drug legalization and peace.
