When should I ask her out

So I am in 8th grade and there is this girl that I really like, and I am not sure how much she likes me. We hang out at school almost everyday and at soccer and track practice. We kinda have nicknames for each other that only we use, and she talks to me about stuff. She broke up with her old boyfriend 2 weeks ago, but she didn't really like him, so she wasn't really sad or anything. How should I ask her out and should I do it soon. I have never asked a girl out before and I am pretty nervous. Please give any advice that you can. Thank you.

Just wait until you're alone and just talking. Make sure that she's over her last boyfriend, if she doesn't seem bothered by it now then 2 weeks should be enough time. Just slip it casually into the conversation, don't make a big deal out of it. Act confident as well, try not to show you're nervous. Good luck with everything.

Ok, so I have been talking to two of my friends about this and a couple things have come up. First, she thinks that I like her, and second, she still likes her old boyfriend a little bit. Should I still ask her out, I really like her!? Please help, I want to soon because I have been waiting for months because I am a shy person.
