Hi, I'm Chris and I love to go scuba diving. I have been in hawaii for spring break and I have do a lot of diving, 14 dives in 10 days. Just this past day or two I have had trouble clearing my ears when descending (I usually have to clear my ears every 10 feet or so) today I have had problems where it sounds like someone is holding their hand over my ears when I hear a sound. It is really annoying, and a bit painful. I have had no ringing (no busted eardrums thank goodness), and no problem with decompression sickness. Does anyone know what is going on? How can I get this to stop? Thank you!

It sounds like unequal pressure. It should go away within a few days.
If not, see a doctor :)

Sounds like middle- ear barotrauma.

Its not serious and takes a few days to heal, but I'd see a doctor to get the right meds to help.

Till then, avoid any exposure to significant pressure changes.

Hmmm, not really sure! Could it be swimmers ear and getting water stuck in your ear or something?
