I was just wondering if anyone had scoliosis like I do. I am around or over 50 degrees of curvage, and the doctor told me that I was to have surgery. After doing tons of research, I found out that the surgery really wouldnt be worth it, because about 15-20 years after surgery, the curve is right back to its original state...I just didnt know if anyone is in this situation, and if you are, what do you do for treatments and stuff?

I have scoliosis, but it's extremely mild. I have an S-shaped curve, and the curvature is ~ 20˚ in my lower back and ~ 15˚ in my upper back; so nothing that requires surgery. I just went to physical therapy for a month or two, and now I do back exercises every night before I go to bed to keep my back strong and also to prevent further curving.

I might have scoliosis, or at least the doctor said it's probably what causes my vertigo, but it's mild.

Yeah, mine is also "S" Shaped. I found a program called "CLEAR Institute," which is intense physical therapy, but I have a problem. The nearest place that supports that program is on the other side my state and it would be $5,000 plus expenses.

I just went to my Scoliosis doctor today to talk about surgery and get x-rays done. MY CURVE HAS DECREASED!!! It went from a 40-50 degree curve to a 30 degree curve! He said that IM NOT HAVING SURGERY!!!

I Used to have scoliosis my spine actually didn't curve much at the bottom and at the top it was starting to curve to where I had a hunch back, all they did was give me a shot in the middle of my back that didn't go deep into my back. they numbed it so it didn't hurt. and after i noticed my back straightened out. I don't know exactly what the shot was about though.

Good luck with your scoliosis! Let's hope that curve lessens more! When I was in fourth grade my friend was diagnosed with scoliosis and she had to wear a back brace for a couple of months until her back straightened out.

Yeah, I tried I soft brace, but after a while it made my back hurt so bad I couldnt concentrate in school. So I said screw it and quit wearing it. Plus it starting rolling up and felt like a was wearing a rope around my stomach.
