What can I say to someone who calls me a fag?

So I'm not gay. But I'm curious. But some guys at school call me a fag. What can I say to them? I just say I'm not gay. But I would like advice on wht I can say, but I would like to say something that makes them know I'm not gay, but something that will embarrass them.

Just ignore them, you know you're not gay and now a days people use words like gay and fag to mean idiot or stupid. They're just not taken as seriously anymore which is plain stupid but I guess that's how society has progressed.
If you retaliate and tell them you're not then they will just provoke you more and wonder if you're just denying it or something. If you call them things back it's just putting more fuel on the fire, it's pointless.
Just walk past and ignore them.

The best thing you can do is ignore it. This may sound pretty hypocritical because I always reply with "It's impossible to ignore!". But sometimes simply avoiding the people who call you fag will completely solve the problem. I hope your situation gets better, I hate bullies.

Just ignore it. They are so insecure that they rely on making fun of others, and there's no point to engage them.
If you ignore them enough, they'll most likely stop sooner than later because they'd realize you aren't being bothered anymore.

Not the best way to go.. Usually if they're saying things like that they're looking for some kind of reaction from you. Maybe looking to pick a fight or show they're tough so ignoring it is definitly the way to go. So I go with my earlier post and say, just be above them and say nothing, it's not worth it.

What I would do (I'm gay btw) is just say "so what if I am gay." and if they continue to bother you about it, it just shows how intolerant they are. I think most people would just stop after you say that because it shows that you are supportive of the community, but doesn't necessarily mean you are gay

I dont know about your school but at my school nobody makes fun of you if your gay, and like half of my school is bi or gay. So usually when someone says fag they dont actualy think your gay, but if they knew you were they wouldnt say it. Well, I would say 1/50 students at my school are gay/bi. There's 700 students in my whole school, and there's a group of about 20 that's gay. They hang out together a lot. Our school is very stereotypical, jocks hangout with jocks, band people hangout with band people, etc.

truly my opinion is to just ignore it, i used to be teased about being gay because i had a high pitched voice, which i'm not gay, so really they just looked stupid. i ignored it and they got bored, if you acknowledge them then you give the bully power and they will know it bugs you and continue to bully you.
