For the itch: try applying some anti-infammatory cream (could even use after-sun lotion)
Itching duration: it will stop once your hair grows back to normal. The longer the hair gets, the less it will itch.
Prevention: next time don't shave with a razor blade. Just trim as best you can.

Agreed, Aloe Vera seems to help the itch/irritation go away for me. Is this your first time shaving your pubes? The first few times are the worst >__<

Aloe, lotion, or moisturizer. The itch, unfortunately, is there until the hair grows back enough

I guess after sun would work quite well, but the itch won't go until the hair grows back again

Aloe Vera works for me. Also if you are new to shaving you will get itchy the first few times. It will get better!
