Summay of my habit before I get to the question. I used to cut on my wrist parents found out, so I moved higher up my arms. Parents found those and I stopped for bout a year. November was really stressful so I cut again. These are my biggest, and most noticible. So now that it's summer I want to stop wearing jackts and log sleeves...so how do I hide them, they're about chest height. Thanksfor the help. :)

I, personally, love my scars. Cutting is/was a big part of developing who I am and how I think of things and deal with things. I think my scars are quite beautiful and I don't feel that I should hide them. However I do realize that my opinions are not shared by everyone. I understand what it's like to want to hide them from people, as they can often attract uncomfortable looks and whatnot. I would recommend either using concealer, scar ointment (you can find it at places like Walgreens, I think), or finding shirt to wear that have long enough sleeves to cover them without being full-length sleeves.

^^^ I agree. If you really want to get rid of them, I suggest going to Wal-mart Ect. and getting Vitamin E caspules. I used them to fade my scars. You simply bust open the capsule and rub the insides on your scars. After that soaks in, I use a mixture of half waterproof foundation and half lotion, this helps hide them, while supplying them with moisture. Then again, this may not work for you, because to put it simply, I am MADE to be injured. It takes a total of four days for my cuts to scar out and two more for them to fade, *hides* Just trying to help. Stay Hidden ~Holli

I am using mederma advanced scar gel. It seems to be working REALLY well! My scars are fading... to bad i have new ones almost every day.

But until the mederma starts making them go away use cover up :)

No it's not that I want to get rid of them, I think they're beautiful also. It's just when people look at you weired for having scars, or when they ask what they're from I can't just say "oh I cut myself". And my parents still haven't seen these ones and I really dont feel like having that lecture from them again. Oh and Deirdre they're on my arms still just high up.

well, you could try a sheer scarf/cover up thingy that you drape over your shoulders "to stop them from getting sunburned"
They usually do the trick.

If you don't want to get rid of them then makeup is your best bet. Although it doesn't usually work too well it will make them a lot less noticable. Also Alex's idea of a scarf or wrap of some kind is something to think about as well.

concealer that is the exact shade as your skintone and some hairspray to make it waterproof, if there really noticeable ur better to do a few thin layers then just put a load on at once and if you have pale skin like me put some talc over the concealer, it keeps it in one place n helps it dry smoother

I agree.

Also, I write words or names to remember a specific moment in my life, sometimes even emoticons :S
