Ok i cant live with this secret forever. Since i cant tell people i trust i guess i can tell people i dont know. I made up a story to get attention from guys i liked. It worked bt nw i have to keep up the lie. I made up a story in my freshman yearsaying i got raped byan adult wheni actually had sex with him. So now im cutting myself becuz of what i did. I cut myself for other reasons bt thats one of the big reasons. So i knw ill be judged by those that reads this bt im just relieved im saying this to someone. :(

Okay, first off: Do not worry, because these things blow over pretty quickly. No matter how big the lie was. We all make mistakes, just remember to learn from them!

If I were in your situation, I'd probably tell the trustworthy people. It will make you feel better to get it off your chest, and no one should spread it either. They might be mad at you initially....but they will respect you for coming clean as well.

Again, people get over these types of things pretty quickly....you know, with so many other distractions etc. So don't worry at all! Just learn from your mistakes :D

The fact that you know you lied, and feel guilty for it shows that you're not a bad person. We all make mistakes. You've obviously learnt from it. Does it really matter what you did? Surly what you would do is what matters now?

The past is the past. Cutting won't help you. It won't solve the problem and it'll just cause more problems for you in the future.

I've done things I regret. I pushed a friend to suicide when I was 12 through breaking her trust. That was over 4 years ago now. I felt a lot of guilt for a long time. Really, it's only in the last year or so that i've got over that guilt. It's not worth wasting your time on. The past can't be changed, look to the future now. You did it. It's over. You wouldn't do it again. There is nothing more to it than that.

This is a website to help people. We're always supportive!

As long as you feel guilty for what you did, it's all good! If you get asked about the sexual encounter, just tell the truth. You did what you did, and it's not their life. You shouldn't be ashamed of it, even if it was a bad thing.

Also, don't cut. You'll have to go through the pain of those days after the cutting, and you'll always have the scars. THAT'S something to be ashamed of.
