Question about school...

I am an only child and because of Dad's career, we have had to travel a lot. I have had a private teacher, who by the way is very cool, but I have never been to school. I was given the choice to continue with private schooling or go to high school. I choose high school, so I can be with my friends as well as experience school. I am really looking forward to going. My friends all like school, so I'm just curious to how everyone here feels about school???

It's interesting hahaha...but my town is reeeal small so the school population is even smaller...rumors spread like wild fire and everyone knows your business but I love It

I liked school and I didn't. I never came out while I was in school and I wish i did but that is why I love college...

People in high school are mean, some of them anyways, they will stab you in the back as soon as they can but you also meet some amazing people there and make life long relationships that you can be proud of and can look back upon.

There are some people in high school that I would take a bullet for and never think twice about it.

All in all i would have to say that high school was fun...

I hate it. I don't mean to freak you out but I hate almost every minute of it. It only causes stress and depression. Its so competitive and I cant stand it. Everyone is a two faced asshole and it's just miserable. Hope it goes better for you though

I am sorry to say this bud but that is real life. It doesn't get better in college, the only take the better people and they use competition to get ride of the weak, that is just how it is. If you cannot survive then they don't care.

I am sorry that you have to deal with the depression and stuff in school, please talk to someone, I am always here is you need to vent.

I'm not having fun at school because people at my school are homophobic... But otherwise I'd enjoy it. I lived school before I came out...

@dimitri. I'm hopeful for college because the school district I go to is ranked the second best in the nation after Beverly hills. Our valedictorian (as I've told you before) has a 4.62 gpa and is working on a cure for cancer. Our cheerleaders won nationals for the third time in a row, our debate team has ranked number one in the nation 22 years in a row, our band always ranks among the top ten in the nation. The list goes on and on. We are so fucking competitive.

I think school revolves around friends. If you have a good group of friends or at least someone that you trust then all in all you like school however if not then that's when the problems start kicking in.

In my expericance school was great when I was younger, shit when I went to juniors (bullying) got better at the start of Secondry and now I just don't give a damn about it. I can't be bothered with it anymore or the people in it. I just can't to be out but then again I'm not looking forward to college either so I'm stuffed either way.

I suppose school provides an excuse to leave the house. But I wouldn't ask my opinion of high school, because in my experience it only became less sh** than it was before a few months ago. Now i'm being buried with assignments and i'm about to get destroyed for not getting them all done.

Find a good group of friends. Stick with them. Try to be organized during the later years. I hope University is better, but I have no idea what I want to study anymore...

High school, at least mine, is reallllly fun, chill, and accepting. Nobody judges others by anything, it's easy to make friends, big campus, just overall a lot of fun.

School is like life. You will have good and bad days. I liked High school for the most part. I think it's a great place to learn how to socialize as well. There are studies that show that home schooled kids end up being more towards the reserved side. Nothing wrong with them mentally or anything to that extent. But they have just never really been in that environment. So I think you choosing High School is a great choice. If you already have friends there, you will do just fine. :)
