In your opinion, what is the best tablet on the market?

I think the iPad's are pretty good- both in OS and Hardware.
The new iPad has a A5x processor and quad core graphics processor (I think) and a RETINA display, which is much higher def than the others.

Right now, I would say the iPad 3, but better tablets are inevitable. With Android and Windows 8, there are bound to be better tablets sooner than later.

For now, I'd say the Samsung Galaxy Tab. I can't wait for Windows 8 Tablets.

Lol Windows 8... Hopefully they don't crash and burn again. I've got a Blackberry Playbook. I bought it for 175 after the price dropped. The technology/feature-set it has is worth more that its priced at, but the operating system is garbage. When they trash it and go with android it will be awesome, until then I would recommend a pass on it.
I know this is a "whats your favorite" But i figured he was looking to buy, so just pointing him at what NOT to buy helps too if thats the case =]

The new iPad is pretty awesome, I have theipad two which really sucks, because I bought it not knowing there was a new one coming out, and then a little while after I couldn't return it anymore, the new fucking iPad comes out.

I'm an Android tablet fan. I have a Toshiba Thrive, and I love it because of it's full-size SD card slot, full-size USB, mini USB, and full-size HDMI. It fits my needs perfectly; but Toshiba is releasing a new line of Android tablets soon, so I wouldn't recommend buying the Thrive now.
It really just depends on what your needs are. I, personally, hate iOS because of how frustratingly limited it is.

I'm using a Xoom (inb4 oldest android tablet) and it still runs great. If I were to be given an iPad 3, I'd sell it and buy a Xoom, even though it's older and not as fast. I generally hate Apple, but their products are decent. (overpriced.) Since Apple is the only company making iPads (with Apple's software. iOS, I believe.), there's no competition between companies to make the better tablet with that OS. With Android, there's Samsung, Toshiba, ASUS, Acer, Motorola, etc. Generally, more competition means a better overall product.
I'd recommend a Motorola Xyboard or Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Samsung is likely to have a new model released soon, the Xyboard was just recently released.

Since I only have experience on an iPad 2 and a Kindle Fire (technically a tablet), I'd have to say the iPad 2 wins hands down. Haven't had a chance to mess around with any other tablets though.

Acer A510, Tegra 3 (5 core processor, 12 core graphics). Devs that work with both say that Tegra 3 has much more power, stability, and control. Plus, I own one, and am an android guy:-)
Btw, why is everyone an Apple fan?!? I've had my time with both, and Android (and Tegra 3 over A5X) has so much more power, customization, and is just overall better.

I have that and I'm pretty disappointed, skype doesnt work, internet crashs, not my favorite apps, but there are a few that I like, I would not recommend this.
