I'm not making this up. I actually got a death threat from this guy in my webmastering class. The guy has been being an ass to everyone in our class and he targets almost everybody especially me. So what I do whenever he says something to/about me is direct it back to at him. Anyway he's threatened to beat the shit out of me many times and never has. Anyway yesterday he made a comment and I brought up how he's failing the class. He then told me to "suck his dick" to which I replied "that may be your forte but honestly I don't think anyone would ever want to suck your dick unless you have a hundred crumpled up in the palm of your hand." this infuriated (a word I don't think he would know) him and he yelled "I'm about this fucking close to walkin over there and beating the shit out of you. I've had it with you. I will literally kill you." As he was saying this the whole class fell silent and the teacher who knowingly let this go on all year just said "what" and called him over. He made up some bull shit excuse about how I antagonize him and the teacher told him to go into the other webmastering class if im bothering him. He left the class and in the hallway we all heard him yell "THIS IS BULLSHIT" and throw his water bottle against the lockers.

This young man sounds like he has some anger issues, or he is just a complete idiot. I would not take it too seriously if he has made false threats before. However, could you seek closure with your teacher and explain how he is? I'm sure from the way that you have described him your teacher will believe you over him. Don't fret over it because you will get worked up and that is never good for anyone. Try to avoid him subtly don't be afraid to tell people (as you are doing now I suppose). Lastly, that comeback made me chuckle to myself, thanks for that :)

A bit irresponsible if you ask me, and I know because some of my teachers are exactly the same :)
You can count on more respectable peers though right?

Tell your teacher, "Listen, either you can do something to punish him and help me feel safe in school or I can have you fired for ignoring an obvious death threat."

He has no choice but to help you in this situation. If not, go directly to your principal and explain the situation to him. I'd also suggest to carry a knife if it's legal where you live, but if it's not legal, then don't.

If I were you, I would have punched the guy out right there when he was making his statement about killing me. What's he gonna do, go tell the teacher I didn't like his death threat?

Nah I don't wanna start something. It'll blow over, hopefully.

Nah I don't wanna start something. It'll blow over, hopefully. Trust me when I say this.. kids like that, they snap.

Now you've got two choices once they've snapped. Either defend yourself and beat the living crap out of him (very obvious you can't from how you've posted), or tell an authority figure and have him removed from your presence.

If you leave it alone, I only imagine it getting worse.

Sounds like a whiney bitch with a small dick. I would just not even look at him if you don't have to. If it really gets out of hand, consult the administration, and they will take care of it.

Mate ignore him, by you replying to his crap he will just continue. Forget him and get on with life. There are heaps at my school, you just ignore them and they seem to go away. You don't want to say anything to the teacher, then that is that. But if you reply to the crap, then you are just fueling his issues. Ignore him.

If the teacher doesn't do anything, tell the administration BOTH about the Death threat and the negligence from the teacher to take action. If he ever does physically hurt you, contact the police. They will most certainly do something to help you.
(He should've been expelled by now, just saying)

Well I don't want him to get in trouble or anything. That's the last thing I need

He clearly deserves it, if he does. The teacher doesn't seem willing to take action, the student doesn't seem willing to change the way they act, so it's up to you to do something about it. If you think it might make things worse, nobodies forcing you to, but if you want things to change, you've got to tell somebody of authority about it. I agree with Truth about carrying a knife for now, if it's legal.

In my school, they'd be kicked out so fast for that kind of behavior.

You're missing the point. It's not about getting the kid into trouble, it's about keeping you safe. You should report the teacher as well, because I'm sure he's violating many parts of his contract by letting this all go.

Report both of them. You can tell your parents first(if you want), and they will hopefully tell the school. Make sure not to exaggerate the story, or nobody will believe you, though.

I think the kid has trouble, and letting all out on you guys. Well, that's just my theory.
