Falling in love with a video game character...

Hello,

I don't know if this belongs here or in the relationships forum but I'll try here first.

I don't know why but I think I'm falling in love with a video game character.

Please don't think I'm crazy. I just feel like I've got a connection with this character.

I know it sounds really stupid and dumb and I keep telling myself that but I also keep having dreams about her and these evoke some sort of strong emotion in me.

The game she's in is an RPG with conversation and moral choices and I think this is why this is happening. Because I'm playing as I would in real life and people are reacting to me as they would if I actually said those things.

What should I do?

I have to disagree with this. Keep playing. You have to get through it before you can get over it, same as with real life [-]crushes[/-] love.

I have a genius idea! If I'm correct Mass Effect gives you a lot of options right? If you get her as a companion at one point you'll have to choose between letting her live or letting her die. Let her die and be done with it.

I like to play RPG's and I also watch a ton of anime I love the stuff. I think anime and video game characters are sooo cute and I have tons of crushes!!!! There are two particular anime characters that I really love a lot! As long as you do know they are not real and it does not interfere with your life it shouldn't be much of a problem :)

Its honestly okay. I do the same thing except not with video game characters. I have a deep deep love for Clarice Starling from the Hannibal Lector books. Its a fictional character but that's what they're trying to do. Get you to feel something. Its art. Even if its just literature, or even a video game. Its art, and art provokes feelings. Keep playing, and just enjoy the fact that you have a deep interest in a character that you can relate with. Everyone has their own little fictional crush. Well, not everyone, but people who enjoy alternative media enough.
