I'm so glad I just smoke weed. Quitting is like one of the easiest tasks ever presented to me. Poor cigarette users. =(

I've been smoking for seven years now. I got to a pack a day around 17 but I've since gotten it down to 1-2 packs per week. It was really hard but it's better than being even poorer than I am already. It's difficult to keep up a £168 a month habit with a part-time job as a teenager. My mum had known I smoked for a while and she smoked herself but her deal with me was that I had to continue to pay for it. Even my full-time job now doesn't leave a lot for food and rent after you deduct that sum. So it's much cheaper to, while I don't think I'll be ready to quit any time soon, decrease it to my current $40 habit.

You legitimately need help, by the time you're 20 you won't even be able to run down your school hallway anymore.
Why do people choose cigarettes over weed? I mean jesus, I have never once gotten addicted... fixed my depression/anxiety... helped me lose weight... etc.

Man... read your post. You choose cigarettes over food.
That's probably the only true thing you just said. But only because I'm anorexic.
But uhh. You know some people smoke three packs a day right? 60 cigarettes versus my current 4.
You legitimately need help, by the time you're 20 you won't even be able to run down your school hallway anymore.
I'm 20 in 26 days so... good luck with that one coming true. And I'm not in school.
Plus I walk everywhere. So I'd notice before that happens.

They're both legal and purchasable at stores literally 60 seconds away by foot. Trust me, if I could, I would. I'd rather not test the law after my narcotic addiction.

I've seen studies about the subject before, 4 cigarettes a day lead to the same consequences as a pack a day, it just takes a bit longer. You will still get cancer, have reduced lung capacity, etc... even if you don't notice it. It's just not worth it, it's a total waste of your health and money. Being anorexic and smoking cigarettes... man, you ain't gonna reach age 30 if you don't change. Both of them significantly harm you, then you add them together? You even used narcotics instead of weed? My mind is absolutely blown, I can't imagine why you hate yourself so much.
Weed = Increased hunger, say bye to anorexia.
Weed = No lung damage and prevention of cancer, say bye to reduced physical health.
Weed = Cheap as hell when compared with tobacco.
Not saying you should use it, but it's something you can easily replace tobacco with. You are old enough to get a medical marijuana card which would allow you to legally purchase and smoke marijuana, so why keep tobacco around?

im pretty sure weed is very harsh on the lungs also plus the extreme paranoia?
my drug addictions are sad
cocaine 4 years sober
heroin 2 years sober
weed 3 years still going
tobacco 5 years still going
I still feel fine but do feel the side effects of the harsher drugs such as cocaine the health effects are real bad with that I'd take cigs any day of cocaine

I've never been paranoid while stoned, so I don't understand that?
Trust me man, you would be 100x better without the cigs, heroin, and crack.
Smoking cigs is your choice, but it's going to kill you before you enjoy life to it's fullest.

Newsflash, even if I wasn't anorexic and a smoker, the likelihood of me living to 30 is threatened anyway, depending on when my HIV becomes AIDS. I've already been five years since the diagnosis. So you know, it isn't a huge concern of mine.
Lol, you'd be surprised how much I actually hate myself if it just takes those two things.
Anorexia =/= not hungry. Regardless of how hungry I really am, that has absolutely nothing to do with the mental disorder.

Were you born HIV positive, or did you get the disease? I hope you didn't get it. 14 is very young. I saw that you did heroin so it could have been from the needles and stuff, though.

I was simply telling you, marijuana tends to have a positive effect on Anorexic users, along with HIV positive users. It's been shown to increase their health, increase the CD4/T cell counts, increase appetite, etc... which can cause it take a bit longer to become AIDS. I know many people have absolutely no interest in increasing their lifespan or enjoying their last few years, but I thought I'd let you know.
I do not dis-approve of your tobacco smoking, I'm simply saying it's not going to benefit you.

I smoke about 10-15 a day, because I like them. That's really the only reason and I think it's a good enough reason for me to smoke them :)
Truth, I also smoke marijuana every day, and for the same reasons. No offense, but I don't understand why people hate on other people for saying you shouldn't smoke marijuana, and then they go around telling people that they shouldn't smoke tobacco. Doesn't that seem a little hypocritical to you since they're both personal decisions?

you need to quit smoking cigarette's. lipton iced tea comes in a package of 100 and is cheaper than a pack of cigarette's but tastes just like them. if you smoke menthols get mint leaves crush them up and put it in with the tea. tea is pure and non addictive so you can use it to either quit or just smoke tea instead.

The longer you do it, the more of your money you waste and the "less addicted" you think you are.

dude you really need to quit criticizing people about their smoking habits. I easily spent 400 plus dollars a month on weed, so first of all, shut up. I smoke cigarettes because I choose to, because I like to, because it makes me feel good. I don't ask and I don't care what people gotta say about my habit because I'm not quitting and for you to sit here and lecture some bullshit when you got an expensive "hobby" of your own is not only hypocritical, but everything you've said in this thread is stating the obvious and quite stupid.
I'm quite sure that most of the people that start smoking know how bad of a habit it is and how hard it is to stop and maybe some of the things that it causes. I will probably get cancer somehow or some shit, but to be honest with you if you listen to the news or even the FDA or read labels on a lot of chemicals or food groups period, a lot of things cause cancer. It is what it is man, and I choose to smoke, I like the way it makes me feel. I don't bang up no more, or snort, but yes it is a bad habit and all your stupid little comments don't help any of the situation. The people that smoke inevitably will have to make that decision on their own when they WANT to. And I would smoke a cigarette in front of you if you started talking all your shit just out of spite, so until I WANT to quit smoking, I'm gonna smoke smoke smoke.
Either they will get a disease, die slow, or maybe just maybe quit on their own merit, but it's legal, its at our disposal and it works for people like me.

If you have no problem with destroying yourself, that's your choice... but I'm not going to say "Awesome ideas, keep doing it." to make someone else happy.
This is a forum for people to stop using drugs; and no it is not legal for a majority of this site to smoke cigarettes (18 or 21 year old depending on the area you live in) so I don't know why you'd say that.
I rarely spend more than $30 a month on marijuana, and hell I haven't even had any in 3 weeks. If I was into cigarettes I know I couldn't say that.

Well you haven't smoked cigarettes so how can you expect to explain people that they need to stop when you honestly and truthfully don't know the first thing about how they are or feel.
First of all don't you dare compare different addictions, they're all on their own level of fucked up, so don't rank them like you've experienced it all okay?
It is illegal to smoke marijuana in every state and a lot of countries yet you admit that you do, hmm sounds contradictory here bud. lol, it maybe illegal, but people still get their hands on it, it's their own personal fix and honestly I'd rather you said nothing else in this thread because you don't know the first damn thing about them other than what you heard in D.A.R.E class and maybe some hokey commercial. I'm not condoning smoking, I'm simply trying to get you to shut up because you're not HELPING or making these people WANT to quit. Yes, it's an addiction, yes it's bad for you, but in my own habit, I'll smoke till I die. and I've been smoking for quite a few years now, I know what will happen to me, I know what can or could happen, but I simply don't give a shit. We're all gonna die someday and somehow, but I'd rather smoke a cigarette and enjoy the day in my own way.
I don't expect you to make anyone happy, if you were trying I'd give you an F for effort because you aren't trying worth a damn. I don't give a damn how much you spend on weed bro, 30 x 12 is $360 a year. I don't care how much money I spend on cigarettes, I don't need them, I want them, like I said in the original post of mine, people are gonna quit on their own merit, not you "bible thumping" way of trying to grind common sense which these kids probably already know into their head about something that they can't always help. So lay off or get out. Cigarette addiction is one of the worst addictions, and as I said - after a certain point, it messes up your bodily functions until you get to that point that "It doesn't matter if I smoke it makes me happy", which you have gotten to. There is honestly no other drug on earth I can compare to tobacco addiction, cocaine is less addictive. I know people who do coke once every 6 months; can't say I know anyone who smokes tobacco once every 6 months... more like 10 times a day. I do not need to experience it personally to find evidence in hundreds of individuals I know.
Your entire life is being put to waste by smoking cigarettes, and as I said earlier it is totally your choice to waste your life, make your teeth yellow as corn, have black lungs with decreased oxygen capacity, get cancer, and always smell like smoke.
I'm certain that your posts are not helping anyone quit either if it isn't promoting smoking, "We're all gonna die some day and somehow, but I'd rather smoke a cigarette and enjoy the day in my own way" - My posts aren't trying to force people to quit, it's me stating my opinion that it is a waste of money, time, and it has never lead to anything positive.
If I knew marijuana was causing me harm, I wouldn't do it. Saying marijuana is a "fix" is ridiculous, it's non-addictive, causes no bodily harm or structural damage such as cigarettes, prevents cancer, increases quality of life, etc... Cigarettes are the complete opposite in every way, they have no medicinal value.
One more thing, I live in Canada - where it's completely legal if you have a medical card. I will be getting one the day I turn 18, so your argument about the illegality is moot. Don't you say I get my information from DARE, because DARE is a bunch of crap not worth listening to. I do not need to listen to propaganda to clearly know that cigarettes kill you, it says so on the very package you purchase.
I'm sorry if it offends you, but everything I say is correct. One day; when you've got a kid and you end up hospitalized with cancer... I'm sure your opinion will change - but hey, then it's way too late. :(

What did I tell you about comparing addictions to each other bro? Are you some kind of clown? People can find it triggering that you sit here and you compare addictions making one less than or making one more harsh, which could make it enticing. The only point I am saying with MY addictions is that I ENJOY it, and I DON'T want to stop. Its not your job and you're not helping anybody who is truly addicted to cigarettes by sitting here and telling them all this shit, it's not supportive, its not reinforced by any positive thing after you quit, its HARD to quit smoking and you'd realize that you'd shut the hell up. It depends on your personality when it comes to drugs, I'm a junkie and I can't do coke just "every 6 months" so first of all don't be arrogant like you know it all.
Your entire life is being put to waste by smoking cigarettes, and as I said earlier it is totally your choice to waste your life, make your teeth yellow as corn, have black lungs with decreased oxygen capacity, get cancer, and always smell like smoke.
Sounds like someone reads the "health Canada" labels too much and tries to "bible thump" it into my mind on the facts that I'm already aware of
I'm certain that your posts are not helping anyone quit either if it isn't promoting smoking, "We're all gonna die some day and somehow, but I'd rather smoke a cigarette and enjoy the day in my own way" - My posts aren't trying to force people to quit, it's me stating my opinion that it is a waste of money, time, and it has never lead to anything positive.
First of all my posts concern my addictions and my beef with you, not anyone else' so don't assume like you know me okay? That's right; its Your Opinion and for you to sit here and force it into people's faces is pretty shitty of you.
If I knew marijuana was causing me harm, I wouldn't do it. And sometimes it can become a vice. To "get you away from your problems" Look I have no issues with weed, but I can tell you that eventually for some people it could turn into a crutch to where they think they need it to get through the day. I knew I got to that.
One more thing, I live in Canada - where it's completely legal if you have a medical card. I will be getting one the day I turn 18, so your argument about the illegality is moot. I LIVE IN CANADA pal, 75% of the package is dedicated to freaks like you that try to pound it into my head about smoking, Not only do I not care- but I smoke to spite of that bullshit.

Don't try and catholic guilt trip me with some "inevitable" problems, if I get sick, I get sick, I REALLY don't give a shit, My opinion isn't changing, I can't tell you what my future has in store for me, but I'll tell you right now, I'm not quitting. so like I said, if you wanna continue this right here, you can PM me because as far as I'm concerned not only are you not helping and being supportive to those that may need to stop, but your comparison to these drugs and issues is completely inappropriate.
