Sup Y'all I was just wondering who here beleives that the world is going to End on December 21 of this year???

To be honest idk what to think there have been as many predictions to the end of the world as there are calender days. And plus in my opinion Only one person knows and that's God. But what do y'all think???

And as a bonus question how do think it's going to end???

I think it's a load of hog wash.-That's putting it mildly.
But I think it will end thousands or millions of years after we're gone.
How? We could only look at scientific data to hypohesize.

IMO.

Unless there is evidence suggesting otherwise...

That's what I think. :P

Seriously though, since there really has been no evidence to show that any Earth-changing event will happen on that day, I highly doubt anything will.

The world coming to an end in 2012 gave me nightmares for ages. I don't believe it will though, It's just stupid predictions and so many have already been and gone and none of them were right so what makes this one any different?

Definitely not. All the doomsday theories that I've heard of are either based off complete pseudos-science or nothing more than speculation. There is a gigantic range of theories, ranging from apparent biblical prophecies to the alignment of the planets. I believe that the biggest example that it's just a bunch of rubbish is the fact that each and every one of them are apparently going to occur on the 21st of November. The nut jobs have just gone "Meh, lets just place my completely ludicrous theory on the same date to cause more disruption and fear". The isn't any credible science behind these theories , hence there isn't any reason to be bothered by them.

"And as a bonus question how do think it's going to end?"

I won't go into any detail (Well, that's because I'm not completely sure of the details) but it's currently understood that in around 4-5 Billion years our sun will go into its red giant stage causing a super-nova and wiping out all life on earth. But with that many years at hand, I would presume we would make some progress as to moving onto other planets or something that sounds just as wacky at this day and age. ..That's all of course if we haven't done something incredibly stupid and wiped out all civilization beforehand!

In my opinion, they got bored. They decided "We've gone up to 2012. How about we take a 40 year break and create another tablet then?"

I find no validity in the assumption of the world ending on 12/21/12. So one civilization's calendar ended on that day, big deal. It doesn't help either that leap days have not been accounted for. If they had been, the world would have ended last year, I believe. So, no. This whole "2012" thing is just another hoax.

We also saw what happened with "the rapture" and all of that good stuff. There have been predictions in the past which have boiled down to nothing, this will do the same.

there have been about 514 leap years since cesar created it in 45bc . without the extra day every 4 the world should have ended about 1 years ago ... also mayan calanders did not account for leap years ...so no .. its just a stupid superstition ... they've said it before...and here we are .. .still alive...

1. As an avid researcher of Cosmology, Universal Physics and Astronomy, I can safely tell you, even if the entire solar system aligns nothing's going to happen.

2. A.D. and B.C. are off by 33 years.

3. The Mayans were indeed great astronomers, created a calendar consisting of 20 months and 20 days, more accurate than our current, Gregorian calendar. This however, does not justify that 2012 will be any different to another year.

4. Me? I want it to happen, this planet's full of idiotic sperm guzzling teenager barbies and Snap-Back wearing sick cunts who reckon they've got 'aesthetics'. Ask them the definition, expect an answer having to do with your Physical Being. Pathetic world.

People think this coz a bunch of monks who made calenders up untill the end of december 2012, this is complete bull, coz they didnt unclude leap years so i has already ran out.

It won't happen. You guys remember that rapture thing last year? Some people sold everything they owned, pulled their kids out of school and did whatever was on their bucket list. Then exactly jack shit happened and they were left unemployed with kids who weren't getting educated.
Same thing here. Jack shit is going to happen. At most, there'll be a few song parodies mocking it.

No, the world won't end in 2012. The world will end when God gives his almighty Word. Has nobody read Revelation?! That's the real story. Praise Jesus!

In reality the world dosn't end when and if the human is wiped out, it ends when our universe can no longer make new galaxies and all the galaxies die out. Thats my opinion

CrashingWaves
April 25th, 2012, 10:40 PM
Well on the topic of nukes, their explosions alone couldn't destroy the world but the after affects of their explosions could. It has been hypothesized that if their were a nuclear war events called Nuclear Winters and Nuclear Summers could happen. But as to if the world is going to end, I don't think it will because how can you expect the mayans to be able to write a calendar for the rest of time?

I personally dont think that the world is going to end in 2012. First of all, The Bible says that no one knows except him. Second of all, all of these other Predictions that happened in the past that the world was going to end, It never did. If the Bible didnt exist, what would make me think that the world wasnt going to end in 2012. Well, we had people saying that it was going to end in the past years, and it never did. So, if the world never ended in those past dates, why would it end in 2012...This is how I feel about this situation.

I do not believe that anything bad is going to happen in Dec. 21st. If there is no scientific proof, no massive earthquakes or impending volcanoes or meteors coming, no I would not believe it.

Predictions are as good as speculation, as good as bullshit. We can't really rule out the possibility of the world really ending then though, in which case it would be pretty darn good guesswork by someone who could have put his/her life to better use.

It won't.

And if it does, it's not because of the Mayans or any "predictions."

I could write a whole novel on it, but, basic points:

1.) There have been other "end of the world" scares such as Y2K, 6/6/06, etc
2.) The Mayan calender does not end on December 21, 2012, just the end of that specific calender. Then another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.
3.) There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.

There's also this:

RaKcPEBiZZw

It's just not going to happen.
