PS3 Trophies/Xbox Achievements - Do you care for them?

I'm just curious to know whether PS3 and Xbox players are interested in getting trophies/achievements or not. Personally, as a PS3 player, I really enjoy trying to get trophies, as I think they make games more challenging (which means you'll enjoy them for longer), and they give you more pride and self-satisfaction when you get them. They make playing games and completing them more worthwhile and long lasting. And of course, it's fun to compare with your friends to see how you rank up against them, and to see whether or not they have the trophies you've been trying to get/have got.

I know some players don't care about trophies/achievements whatsoever, though, and they care mostly just for the online parts of games like Call of Duty. Others still like playing the offline parts of games, they just don't care much for the trophies/achievements.
That's fair enough, I'm just interested to know if there are many others who do like to spend time trying to get trophies and achievements.

A question to PS3 players (sorry, I don't know anything how Xbox achievements work), to conclude: do you have any platinum trophies? If so, how many?

I have none. I don't see the point of earning trophies, unless you get some sort of reward or something at the end.

I generally just ignore them, but when I do get them it's a nice surprise. I don't really focus on them when playing games though.

I care about achievements. I just don't over do it. I play the game when I first get it to see how it is and then I try to get the achievements. As of now, I have 33,585 gamerscore that I got legit. I haven't gotten any new games in a few months so I don't play Xbox that much for now.

I care about Xbox achievements. I don't have a PS3, but I bet I'd waste time going for trophies too. Oh and Steam achievements. Even they're the MOST useless of any form of achievement, I still go out of my way for them.

I wouldn't say im overall mad about XBL Achievements but I do try to get all of them before i consider a game completed. I don't care about the amount of points i have, only fully completing the games.

As a ps3 player I have tried to earn trophies however I am not overall mad about earning them.

For example in skyrim. I have not joined the thieves guild because I dislike them and I feel that guild is stupid.

So anyway I don't go mad for them but I occasionally with try and achieve them

88K XBL gamerscore, hell yes I care. PS3 trophies, I tried to care but it doesn't feel the same, especially when you have to manually sync them everytime you get one; which is pathetic and fucking lame.

I'm pretty sure they automatically sync, though I could be wrong.

I don't give a crap for them at all. There is absolutely no reason to spend all that extra time getting them, and, in most cases, having no reward at the end.

Achievements (or trophies) are all I play for. I have completed Borderlands (80/80 achievements/trophies adding up to 1750G) which is my greatest 'achievement' you might say :D

Not really. If I get a trophy or Steam achievement, it doesn't really concern me. It's not like the game requires me to earn the achievement to advance through the game itself, right?

I care for them :D I read through them and I try to unlock the simple ones during gameplay and I save the more complicated ones for once I've finished the game :) Especially in open world/sandbox games :D
