What's wrong with living in a small town? And damn that get you in the top 20%. Having a 4.0 doesn't even get u in the top ten at my school. (we have weighted gpas)

I'M Not saying hick town as a bad thing hahaha just that we are a small southern school and our GPA is weighted to...we have a farm on campus believe it it not haha

I envy you. We have a small little pond but that's it. Also from what people say it's better to be in a small school cause you know everyone. Personally I think that woul be a double edged sword but what do I know. What's ur take on it?

It sucks for dating...if you date one girl and it doesn't work then another girl won't date you cause everyone lnows what went down...and you cant hide secrets...but I love it because you live through the hard times together and you enjoy great times together

Really? Are you talkin like you tell one person somethin and everyone gossips or do u mean people will try to find out?
Also im assuming everyone knows each other.

Oh ok.
So it's gossip then. Wouldnt you just be more reserved. I mean if you know what's gonna happen your asking for it.

I don't live in America so half that stuff doesn't apply. But..
I go to a grammar school (you have to pass an exam to get in) so in that respect there's possibly more expected of us, higher work load, higher targets. However we're all meant to be capable of this. I'm probably in the top half of my year with targets of all A's however because of the whole being a grammar school generally only the really clever girls are at the very top of the year, those ones you know will go to oxford.
My school is an all girls school, possibly just over a thousand students. The grounds are relatively small however the original building is 83 years old and I find it really pretty.

My school has a lot of kids for a high school. My overall grade as of now is, 76.40 I think which is a little bad but I'm okay with it. My school has about 4200 kids that are enrolled. That many can't go at the same time so our schedules are different. Most of the time, Juniors and Seniors come in at 7:20 and Sophomores and Fresman much later. School is in session from 7:20 all the way to maybe 6:00 or later. I enter at 7:20 and leave 2:39. No is popular in my school. It's too much kids to even know one kid like that but good thing about it is if a rumor is spread, not that many kids will know about it and they'll probably forget about because they don't know you.

Do you live in the city or something? Also for my school we only have juniors and seniors and that forms a senior high. The regular high school (not junior high) are 9-10 and two high schools feed into each senior high. So if you combine my senior high with the feeder schools its about 6000-7000. There are 3 senior highs in my city

Fullyalive. So is the only difference between grammar school and normal high school the exam and level of competition?
FullyAlive
April 8th, 2012, 03:09 PM
Pretty much, grammar schools tend to be able to provide more resources. But yeah the only difference is the exam you take to get in.

That's fucking a lot but I don't live in the city. It's a pretty small neighborhood but a lot of kids pick this school.

My school is one two story brick building. Classes are way too easy. I don't know my GPA (we don't have those here) but my overall average is 96.6. I got first place in my class of 32.

Is it government run or do you have to directly pay money to the school to attend.
FullyAlive
April 9th, 2012, 10:52 AM
Well it's an academy, I don't pay money nor do my parents. The government provide a grant of so much a year however have no say in the way it's run. At least that's my understanding.

Ehhh, went to two high schools...public schools, both of them.
So, I graduated in the top ten, my GPA was 4.23 because of the college courses I took. I went through a rigorous medical course, I am 19 and a Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced (EMT-A), a Phlebotomist (I stab you with needles to draw your blood to run tests) and a State Tested Nurses Aide (STNA - I am a certified ass wiper) and a Life Guard.
I went through so much but it was all worth it in the end. I graduated number 5 or 3 (I cannot remember nor to I care) out of 300...

I currently go to an alternative school (basically a school for people with emotional impairments) and it's such a weird school. I like it and everything, but the rules are wack. You can't touch anyone, for instance. You can't even give anyone a high five or a hug, because 'some people don't like to be touched.' Pfft. It makes me feel like a criminal in jail or something. They also have this point and level system where you earn 25 points a day an then progress up the levels and earn privileges, like being able to chew gum and write with pen. It's really kind of stupid and makes me feel like I'm in elementary school. But at the same time it's a lot better than regular high school, because I couldn't handle all the people.

Does maxing ap courses at your old school yield a 5.0? If so then how did a 4.2 land you as number 3. Not trying to insult you or anything but the valedictorian of the senior class has a 4.62 gpa.

I go to a public high school, a senior high school to be more exact, as it has 11th and 12th graders. Our district has an intermediate high, which is 9th and 10th.
Size: 289,265 square feet on 77 acre campus.
I go to a really good school district and my high school is one of the nation's most respected high schools
let's see...I have a 3.9 GPA (or wait is it QPA? I always mix them up) but since there are a lot of students in my grade (over 700?), I'm not really a top student. never have been. not like I care, I already know where I'm going, and that college already accepted me
most of my classes are Honors classes, I don't take any AP courses.
I am doing this college credit thing in Calculus (optional). If I pass the Pitt final exam, I get credit for college calc class. my parents paid $200 for that.

Ours is a outdoor school with at least 3 different construction projects going on at the same time. We are one of the top 50 schools in the USA. We are just under the 2,000 student cap, and Most classes have around 20-30 students, though the AP sciences have even more! Work load is pretty average, challenging but not too challenging.
We get a lot of prevliges like Music electives, open campus, and modern equipment (and I mean everything. From our computers, to our programs, and even our Gym equipment-- all new and top of the line)
