View Full Version : Are forearm muscles built while exercising the biceps/triceps?

Or do you have to do specific forearms exercises? I wasn't sure whether the exercises not only exercises the biceps/triceps but also the forearms.

if you`re not training professionally no sense of special exercises

The way i do it. I split wood. I dont do it every day. But i do it enough my arms keep getting stronger

yes they do, from having to grip the weight and different variations u do work the forearm, like hammer curls work the forearm and the bicep, so do reverse curls

Best way is to get a barbell, tie about 1 metre of rope to it and and tie a weight to the end of the rope, it doesn't have to be a lot of weight but basically what you do is start twisting the barbell while holding it out in front of you, so that the rope is twisting around the bar lifting the weight it's not as easy as it sounds!

Nik94 is right, it's quite difficult, even without much weight.

Another little gadget that helps build the forearm and wrists are hand grips, they're my prefered method of training because I can just sit infront of the tv and use them.

As long as you are doing different variations to work your bis and tris, you should be good. But you might want to work them out separately if you feel like you need to to help you in in lifting.
