For anyone who knows and appreciates Pink Floyd. Not exactly typical, but a good band like them deserves a thread here. General discussion of the band is welcome, as well as favorite songs, favorite albums, or whatever.

I like Pink Floyd, man. Animals and Meddle are my two favorite albums. "Echoes" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KMpZaEF6g0) is by far my favorite Floyd song, followed by "Sheep" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqlsVZ1zxMk).

I'm strongly considering buying tickets to Waters when he drops by Houston for The Wall in May, but those tickets are really fucking expensive. I'll probably cave in and get them, though, since this may be his last tour, period.

To me, Pink Floyd is one of those bands where it's hard to just pick one favorite song. "Time", "Us and Them", "Any Colour You Like", "Money", "Brain Damage", "One of These Days", "Lucifer Sam", "Astronomy Domine", "Wish You Were Here", "On the Turning Away", "Comfortably Numb", you name it. All are awsome songs. I just think it's a shame that they will most likely be remembered for "Another Brick in the Wall". A good song, but no way their best.

Do not any of you dares forget A Momentary Lapse of Reason or The Division Bell. Sure, Waters was not involved, but that doesn't mean they weren't great albums.

Indeed, they are all great songs. However, for me, nothing really compares to "Echoes". In my opinion, that song stands on its own as the epitome of Pink Floyd's more theatrical days. Like a more refined version of Atom Heart Mother's title track. But yeah, I really think Floyd is more of an album-based band. I don't usually listen to Wish You Were Here or Animals, or even The Wall, in short intervals. I let them play out.

Aww. Oh well, everybody has their tastes.

Good albums, yes. Never really got into them though... might have to do a bit more listening.

How can you choose a favourite song?! I can't even choose a favourite album!
I mean, look at Dark Side of the Moon! Amazing tracks on it! Money, Time, Great Gig, Eclipse etc. Pieces of genius!!
Look at The Wall! Comfortably Numb - That solo is amazing!
Wish you Were Here! Shine on you Crazy Diamond..... Speechless about it! Have a Cigar and Welcome to the machine! Amazing vocals and synth. And of course Wish you Were Here.... need I say more about it?
Animals is brilliant too! Look at Pigs (3 Different Ones) and Dogs. Simply amazing!
Do I have to go on about every album? You guys get the point...
Pink Floyd is amazing.

First of all, lrn2type.
Second, after several Pink Floyd threads we all get tired of "Oh I know "We Don't Need No Education." You can't really blame us for being annoyed by these people anymore. If that's the only Pink Floyd song they know, they don't know Pink Floyd.
