I'm from New Jersey too (originally, anyway) and I can't say I like him a whole lot. I'd never turn down tickets to one of his shows, though, those are supposed to be incredible even if you're a non-fan.

He is the best performer and songwriter around. Best album i'd say darkness, best song backstreets, something in the night or atlantic city... can't decide!
