Bud, as an Eagle Scout I would not say you are "FULLY" trained, you have a basic understanding, most likely Basic Heart Savers certification...
Yes, I am trained in a small amount of first aide compared to some of the people I work with, I am an Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced now, I can start IVs and do many other things but I also work with Nurses and Physicians who can do much more.

Have too many qualifications haha
-Level One Sport Trainers Course
(Involves sporting injuries treatment, Injury Prevention (taping, warming up), Spinal/Collar Training, Hydration/nutrition, Anatomy, Drug Awareness, Medical Conditions, Concussion and Head Wound Training)
-Advanced First Aid
(Use of Oxygen/Bag Valve Masks/Oral Airways, Advanced Care, Emotional/Drug Casualties, Triage, Advanced Trauma, AED's, Spinal Collars/Backboards, Medication Administration, Advanced Medical Conditions, Child Birth, Vital Signs)
-Remote Area First Aid (Wilderness)
(Assessments, Evacuation, Advanced Wound Care, Shelter, Hypothermia, Splints, Advanced Fracture assessment/treatment, Rescue Techniques, Vital Signs)
Other minor courses such as Anaphylaxis, Asthma and Basic First Aid. Recently stepped down as a basic first aid instructor. Also do alot of study on medicine (mostly emergency) and basic nursing. Not a medical professional like a doctor/nurse/paramedic (Yet anyway) :D

I have some training but never got fully qualified. I almost went to become a lifeguard but got bored because of the amount of theory and deck work you have to do.

Don't worry, it doesn't matter ho much you can do it matters how you apply it, the only reasons I can do more is because I have much more training and experience and I also have age on you as well. I just recently learned how to do stitches and I have been practicing for a few years...

Why'd you step down?
I resigned the organisation I was doing it with for various reasons. I can still teach it and that, maybe again in the future.
It all comes with experience. Like I say in all the courses I taught, you can do 100 First Aid courses and come to a accident scene, freeze, panic and forget everything that you have been told. Its the natural fight or flight routine. I have attend hundreds of medical situations and Dimitri has probably tripled that amount. All comes with experience, you learn by doing :)

He cannot be, according to the County of Los Angeles, where his profile says he is from it states that you must be, at a minimum of 18 years of age to complete the Emergency Medical technician Course...
You cannot be an EMT, this is a illegal act and is prosecutable in any court system in the United States....
Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible to certify as an EMT in California. If you are not yet 18 years old, you may enroll in the course six months prior to your 18th birthday with the understanding that your certificate of course completion will be withheld until the age requirement is met. If you are under the age of 17½ you may still take this course, however, you will not be eligible for certification as an EMT in the State of California.
This ^^ is from the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Course Details - UCLA
You are not an EMT my friend, i am sorry, if you truly are I would be able to search you on the NREMT Registry by your age and location and would be able to find you, it is illegal what you have acclaimed to be.

Thought so, over here you technically can't take the Basic First Aid course until your 14, cannot be a Sport Trainer or Advanced First Aider until 16. You can start your Paramedic path at 18, which is then uni for 3 years - so your basically 21/22 when your qualified as a Paramedic.

Here you can be a paramedic at 19, as long as you have your EMT-B...you just have to take the courses and plan them right, summer classes and such.

Yeah Ive read alot about the US system, and quite like it. We are phasing out direct entry for paramedics, before you could just apply and join up as a recruit, where you basically area a Level 1 paramedic (Initial 8 weeks classroom training, then go on road), and basically just do the EMT skills, nothing big - for 3 years, then you can go to level 2 etc. To get to level 5 (Intensive Care) takes about 4-5 years experience as a qualified paramedic.
Planning on doing a double degree, of Nursing / Paramedics, so for 4 years at uni, I will come out able to be a both nurse and paramedic. (Cuts down 2 extra years of study).
