I don't mean stuff like death metal (which isn't goth rock at all, it's just it's own thing). I mean stuff like Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, Killing Joke, etc.

Deffinitely. Her voice always gives me chills. (But in a good way.)

What's your fave song by them?

The ironic thing is that my favorite songs by them are actually covers that they did, like "The Passenger" and "Dear Prudence". They are one of the few bands able to cover a song without it sounding like a cover. In regards to original songs, though, I like "Christine" and "Hong Kong Garden". Ultimately, though, I think Bauhaus is better.

Their version of "The Passenger" is great, and I definitely agree about the covers.
I haven't listened to Bauhaus as much, but from what I've heard they're good :)

Check out the youtube links in my above posts for some Bauhaus, if you're interested. There's more on YT if you find you like them.

For the one hundredth time...
Evanescence. Is. Not. Goth.

They're alt rock. Though that seems like a compliment. Pop rock.

While Ev isn't goth rock, some of there songs are arguably Gothic metal (or Gothic nu-metal).
I'm definitely not saying they're in the same league as Siouxsie or The Cure, but they are playing in a similar ballpark.

Yet not post-punk.
I'm just tired of everyone generalizing "dark" bands into the same category when they don't fit in that category. And that goes with everything really.

Anyone like Lacuna Coil? Probably my favorite female-fronted bands and fit into the genre of Goth
