Does anyone know of any good numbers I can call to talk about sh in the uk? I really need to talk to some professional but I'm not ready to see anyone in person yet. I know that childline has self harm help but I'd feel a bit stupid calling that cause I'm almost 16... Has anyone else called them before and does it help? I had a really horrible cutting sesion last night and I really can't go on keeping this a secret, I can't tell my parents and its the holidays so I can't tell anyone at school either, any advice is welcome :)

You don't have any friends that you can talk to online? That helps a lot of people.

Childline is the only one I know and I went on their website once and had one of those 1-1 chats with one of their councellors, that kind of helped I guess.

The suicide sticky has a list of helplines attached in a PDF. Most of the helplines also help with issues other than suicide.

The Samaritans
Call for anything, just for someone to talk to if you are upset, or especially if you are suicidal or thinking of cutting. They will not judge you, but will just listen. Calls are charged at local rates and may show up on a phone bill.

This felt most relevant to what you wanted but here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=131108) is the sticky which also links to another sticky filled with helplines.

Childline is also for anyone under 18 so don't worry about feeling too old, you're not.

Also, if you need anything, you are more than welcome to PM me and I'm happy to listen and offer advice if I can. :)

If it's anything like the Australian one, it should be completely free. I'd check the website.

Childline won't appear on most landline bills, and most phone company's have also edited it from the call details however not all so it's worth checking before you phone, if you look at their website you'll be able to find out which companies have taken the number from your bill.

Just keep trying different ones until you find one you like :)
