Heya, I was just wandering what revision strategies you guys have? I have barely anything. Like seriously. My GCSEs are in about a months time and theres a great big TV right next to me and I get distracted. Anyways, I can barely revise. Like seriously, writing down information from the book isn't enough. So what strategies do you guys' use?

Alright first get out of the room with the tv, sit yourself in a quiet room with no or very little distractions, maybe listen to music instead. Everyone has different techniques but i find colours help me, writing things on coloured sticky notes and leave them in places i know i'll see them, or i have someone helping me, they'll read through the notes i've written out and they'll keep repeating them at me and then change the subject, then ask me about it and they'll keep doing it until it goes in. It might help if you find out what sort of learner you are and go from there. Heres a site with some ideas for you:

Hey, that's a good idea. My friend told me to make a mindmap, so I could combine that with colours of different areas to help me :D Cheers Aaron

Oh yeah, we did a test at school of these. Surprisingly, me and another person in our class were apparently "all three", as in we take parts from each type of learner. Ill need to find some way of learning in a way thats unique to me, im guessing a good idea is, from ideas taken from the website, I have decided to create a presentation to show to my friends at school. That involves the visual element, to write the information, the auditory element, to speak it to my friends as a speech as part of the presentation, and the kinaesthetic element, to demonstrate how it works. I think I'm going to do that with biology, our teacher is a bit...shite. Anyways, cheers ^_^

I'm really not very good with revision, it bores me so I don't do it often :P buttt when I do, I like to make notes, then make notes from those, and again and again until I've condensed it all down. I personally don't like mind maps they're too messy for me, but I like to use post it notes.
But one of the best ways of revision is practice papers that way not only will you learn the content you can learn how you may be asked to apply it.
Dependent on the grade your aiming for revision might change, this might not be true for you but I found to get a B I didn't need to understand any of the subject just know it, but it was when I wanted my A's and A*'s that I had to be able to understand and apply it.

I use note cards. I write the question on one side and the answer on the other. Then i read over my notes A LOT
