Right, I've introduced myself before, but I still don't feel 'Welcome' here. It's not the community, it's me being, well social me.

I'll put things into a (hopefully) easier to understand metaphor,

The Virtual Teen community is a room full of people having a chat to each other. I've tried to make myself feel more comfortable in the room by giving suggestions while standing next to the exit door (posts). The thing is the moment anyone says anything negative about anything I said or if I believe I've attracted too much attention I'm gonna bolt through the door and never return. Even if it's something that only I perceive as negative. <--(I am assuming is something with an anxiety disorder I may or may not have.)

While this is me in real life because I have no confidence in myself, online I have the sense to know I can leave without fear of ever seeing you guys again. So basically, being on a computer gives me some sort of social confidence.

So i'm going to just come out and ask you guys, can I join in? Can I be a part of your conversations? Please? Having some sort of approval will hopefully help me feel less anxious about posting.

Well yes, of course you can "join in" everyone's welcome. Im just going to tell you that the more you post and spend time in the chat room the more accepted you will become because people get to know you. You don't have to ask, be yourself and im sure people will accept you. :)

The phrase 'everyone's welcome' is a phrase my mind can't seem to comprehend properly. Instead I see everyone's welcome except myself, because no-one likes me. It's both irrational and annoying. I can't be that bad surely.

I did have to ask, or else I will never feel comfortable, I feel like i'm walking in on someone else's party in someone else's house. I want to stay. So I asked because otherwise I feel like i'm more out-of-place then usual.

Well thanks for replying, both of you, it made me feel more accepted, to a certain degree.

So... *internet high-five*? *Bro-fist*? *Slightly awkward out-of-place hugs*?

No, of course you can't be that bad. Get to know people and let them get to know you and you'll "fit in" I guess in no time. Though I don't think you can fit in, as soon as you start posting you're "fitting in" so yeah.

Okay then well I hope asking helped but I do kind of get where your coming from, well people will accept you more if you become an active poster, it's usually then that you begin to feel like you belong.
