Here's my art dump thread, I do pretty much all art except music. I'm best with photography and drawing so I'll be showing those most frequently. Critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks, have a fetal moose.

In our town recently a moose was, again, hit. When the meat was being salvaged it turned out it was a pregnant moose. They took out the fetus and showed us high schoolers. I got a picture for documentation.

Bwahaha, I use my phone camera on max res, in fact I only adjust light exposure to eliminate glare, everything else is unaltered. Part of my style, I like the nature of my photos.

**I have a new phone now, the old one is outdated, still should be on high res

More in the sculpture dept.

I've really no idea why I never commented your art before... Maybe I just missed the thread for some obscure reason. I'll comment only the drawings, as 3D, sculpture and pixel art I've not much knowledge about.

Quickly, from the oldest to newest:

The treasure: The shape of the treasure box seems weird - as if it had been squished somewhat.

Knight's armour: Mostly perspective issues with this one - every part seem to be projected from a different point of view; shading is definitely lacking on most parts. Always draw the structure first, then flesh it out - and that's nowhere as true as with armors and mechanics, where the observer expects the underlying geometry to be obvious.

Front head: The eyes are too close to each other. Eyes, nose, mouth and chin are not aligned with the centerline; again, that's an issue of not drawing the structure beforehand. Shading of the neck is nice, but is lacking on the face.

Side view head: Proportions of the face elements seem off, though probably not by much, especially if aiming for caricature. I'd check the eye and the eyebrow, though. Lined paper is evil ;).

Landing bird: The sun is really a poor idea - it is distracting, filling negative space for no reason, and moreover, it isn't even properly round... The hills should be drawn lighter, to create a contrast placing the bird forward in the scene. Lined paper is, well, still evil ;).

Butterfly in a drop: The pencil lines filling the drop are way too visible; especially when rendering liquids, use cross-hatching or smudging to make the pencil strokes invisible or unnoticeable.

The Fox: The anatomy seems a little off, and the grass should have been lighter, so they put the animal in value. Good work on representing fur and its progressive shades.

Tree branch: I found this one difficult to grasp... It lacks contrasts between elements.

Eggbox and bottle of yellow... stuff: great work of cross-hatching on the eggbox. The bottle leaves me unconvinced, as its shape is not a proper cylinder, and its cross-hatching is too rough to be convincing (large crosshatching like what you did works well with the eggbox because it gives it the rough, irregular surface of cardboard; for something like a plastic bottle that is usually a smooth surface, much thinner crosshatching is needed).

Purple pentapus: The shape is ok, but the coloring is not. Pencil strokes are way too visible and irregular. Maybe your picture was actually too small for a proper color pencil work on it; such pencils often require a larger-scale so the various colors can properly blend to the eye of the observer.

Fwew, that was a lot to comment! Hope it can help you in your future works of art!

An issue I noticed with several of your photos: the front subject is blurred, while the background is clear. It is the opposite that you usually need to do.

When you try to make a shot of a specific object, always try to have the focus on it, and the background blurred. The more blurred the back is, the stronger your subject appears.

This is usually hard (but not impossible) to achieve a decent bokeh (blurred background) with a pocket camera. Some tips you should try:
- Set ISO manually instead of auto: start with ISO200 outside;
- Enable "Macro" mode;
- Force the flash function to "off";
- Enable image stabilization if available.

You'll not achieve the results you'd get from a DSLR, but you can achieve rather nice results, especially with small subjects like flowers or with close-up portraits.

The only problem is I don't have a nice camera... I'm going to take a photography class though, and maybe I'll get a nice camera for my upcoming birthday!

Anyways for once I do get a nice camera I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again!
