This is the Beginning to what I am hoping to be my first novel, any advice I will take to heart.
‘Where am I? Why am I here?’
‘You have been called here by us, the Prophets of Destiny’
I was standing in a giant polished marble room. Around me, sitting in chairs set out like the pinnacles of a star, were five stunningly beautiful woman, all dressed in cloaks of pure white. ‘I’m sorry, but where is “here”? And who are you, and why am I here? This is all so confusing.’
The woman sitting in the top point of the star started to talk. ‘This is known as the courtroom, this is where we gather to discuss urgent matters.’
‘Our names are...’
The woman in the bottom left pinnacle of the star was interrupted by the woman in the top right. ‘We do not have time to discuss who we are, we can discuss this at a later time, the boy will be waking soon.’
This was getting too confusing for me to handle.
‘Okay, listen young one, soon you will wake, and there is no way at this point in time for us to prove you are not just dreaming this, but you need to know that we are real, where we are is real, not just a figment of your imagination. Our world is in great danger, and in turn yours is also, and you and your colleagues are the only ones that can save our two worlds.’
I was staring in disbelief at the woman in the top pinnacle, wondering whether I should believe that all of this is real, when the woman in the bottom right pinnacle said something that pulled me straight out of my disbelief.
‘He is fading.’
‘What do you mean I’m fading!?’ I asked alarmed.
I looked down at my body, and noticed it was transparent, and slowly disappearing.
‘W-What’s happening!? Am I dying? I’M TO YOUNG TO DIE!’
‘Calm down child, you are not dying; you are just waking from your slumber.’
I woke up with a start with the morning, beads of sweat running down my face.
My mind was racing, what did all of that mean?, How is an eleven year old meant to save not only one, but TWO universes, even if I did have people to help me.
