How does someone flirt? Any tips?

So I'm not exactly sure what flirting is. I know it's complimenting but what else is it?

So in art I sit with these 3 girls, who are pretty hot (I really like one of them :D, especially cause she's Sicilian ;) :wub: lol) and like we all three get along very well (I mostly get along with 2 of them, but the other one I'm ok with) and like I'm always giving them compliments. But compliments that are like very straightforward or whatever.
So we were having to draw ourselves and so the girl said "I can draw myself" and I said "Well of course you can't, it would be hard trying to draw an angel". So silly stuff like that. Like another time she was joking around trying to act like a demon, and so I said "It's impossible for an angel to act like a demon" and I'm always complimenting Stuff like there hair and sweaters and stuff like that.

So was that flirting?

What are some good flirting stuff I can do? Something not rude and too serious, kinda silly but makes them feel good

What you're doing is flirting, I guess, but I always saw flirting as (In a sarcastic tone) go like "Oh you're weird. Weirdo." Like pushing their buttons in a friendly kind of way.

I couldn't really recommend any "Flirting stuff" besides being friendly, everybody flirts differently.

try to say things other than just "angel," but you're on the right track. Just compliment her, lots of smiling etc.

I always called my ex-girlfriend "princess" and "baby", those were the words she liked being called. Do not tell them they are hot or fit... Girls prefer real non-slang words such as "beautiful" or "gorgeous". Say words like that instead of "angel", call her different, better things.
I don't have much experience in girls, in fact, the only girl I've ever dated has been over the internet but still, I know what she liked to hear from me.

Oh, god. I am terrible at flirting, probably because I never really do, and when I am around a guy alone, any guy, I am just so terribly awkward and don't know what to say. That may be one of the reasons why I haven't had a boyfriend... that and or because I am just crazy... awesome that is. Crazy awesome. But really...

I just flirted for the first time today and made my fair share of mistakes. Just try to compliment her without over doing it, like I tried to fit compliments into our conversation where possible.
