I'm 16 and I have never drank any alcoholic drinks in my life and I don't plan to any time soon, I'm perfectly happy without alcohol, I'm sensible unlike most of you :P is that normal?
People at school think I'm weird for that and even my parents try to get me to have some, I'm just really really cool ;o

Its perfectly normal. Some people just aren't interested in it, i personally think its a good thing. Alcohol isn't something you want to become a regular thing.

Perfectly fine dude. I don't drink either. I personally think alcohol tastes gross. People always say it's an "acquired taste", but why would I want to acquire the taste of something I hate the taste of?

I don't see how it's so tasty or "amazing", I've never had it and don't particularly want to try it, but can someone who does drink please explain to me what's so great about it? Is it just to make you look 'hard' or is it really the taste? Because it smells awful. I just drink juices, milkshakes and fizzy stuff :P

Some people it might be to fit in. To me its always been a way to escape problems, when i drink i pretty much stop feeling unless im in a low mood to begin with.

its good you don't drink I've been looking after drunk friends and been looked after myself too many times to ever tell someone drinking is a thing you should do.
I have a friend who's eighteen yet doesn't drink we take the piss but it probably takes a lot of confidence.
As for why, erm I do like the taste of quite a few drinks, also being drink is fun although as was said I drink to block stuff out sometimes too.

I lost my taste for it. I used to be able to down half a bottle of rum now I can't stand a shot, or beer.

Perfectly normal, funny how even your parents try to make you drink, but like everyone else said, not something you wanna get into. Cheers! :D (Pun-intended).

Same, don't drink. My family has a history of alcoholism, or at least that's what I tell people when they try and make me drink. It works surprisingly well.

Suit yourself. I drink on rare and special occasions, never enough to get me tipsy. It's possible to drink and still be smart about it. Most I've ever had in one go is a cup of spiked lemonade that my sister let me have at a family get-together. So I don't know whether you were just fooling around, but watch what you say around here before you make yourself look like an ass. On the whole partying and getting wasted category I would agree with you, but addressing all alcohol consumption in general, your assertions of personal superiority are faulty.

Who cares what people think? You choose not to drink alcohol, and it is your choice.

Its nothing weird. Theirs plenty of people like you. I for one, like alcohol. But I'm not out binging on alcohol. I am one of a kind, because id rather have a glass of wine with dinner. Then get drunk off wine, I drink wine purely for the taste. My dads good friend (like an uncle to me) has a vineyard, so whenever we Go up to the vineyard they have these extravagant dinners every night, with those dinners they have like 2-3 bottles of his wine (7-8 of us). I like to enjoy the tastes of the wine, especially if I'm going to become a chef :P

the choice whether or not to drink is yours and yours alone. If you don't want to then nobody should judge you for it.
I'm personally fine with teetotalers and think it's normal as long as you don't judge drinkers for drinking :)

On the contrary, my good man, I'm telling you to watch yourself before you make yourself look like an idiot and make everyone on here hate you by making yourself out too be some sort of God. Just a friendly tip.

Good for you! I only recently started drinking, and I only drink once in a great while and only when I know I will be safe such as when I am spending the night at a friends house.
Always be safe!

Definitely normal. My life would be a lot easier if everyone was like that. I am the same way and don't like it at all and don't ever want to drink or use any drugs. I'm not extremely social because of all of it and only have a few close friends that don't drink or do any drugs.

There isn't a problem if you don't drink and it is kind of weird that you haven't ever drank anything.

I only do it socially around friends and cousins and stuff, but I am not a drinker in any way at all. It's just peer pressure I guess, but what I do in the privacy of my home is my business, so I don't do it there.

Hey, good for you, honestly some people just tai fit to extremes and when I get called at 3am cause one of my friends is wasted I really just wanna leave them to teach them a lesson...
Anyways, good job, I do drink occasionally but I have been brought up around wince so I love it...but I have only had one time where I drank because I felt like it...
It isn't a good habit to get into. Keep it up.

Why do people find that weird? They shouldn't find it weird, and it's smart that you don't.

I've had alcohol on occasion (a sip at holidays and weddings) but I rather dislike the taste, therefore I don't believe that I'm going to drink when I get older.

Wow, that's amazing! Considering 80% of the kids at my school have had alcohol. Cheers to you… wait… oops.
