I am planning on dual-booting my laptop with Windows 7 and a linux distro. Is openSUSE good for people who don't know much about Linux, or should I go with another distro?
I have mint on my desktop, and thought I'd try something different. :)

openSUSE is good if you have a bit of Linux knowledge or will have someone else handle that part for you. It can be quite user-friendly, depending on which programs you install.

SUSE is going to be pretty big step up from mint. Ubuntu is probably a better option as the user friendliness is still there, there is tons of support, but lots of opportunity to learn basic commands etc.

I decided I am going to stay with mint for a while.
I downloaded openSUSE the other day. It got to 4.0gb out of 4.1gb and failed.. I probably should get used to mint first..
