Does anyone else here race for a hobby? My dad started racing when i was younger and has since been injured and cant get into the car due to the roll cage. So i have been blessed with him handing me the task of driving while he pays for everything. We both Built the car and he taught me everything i know. We drag race a Twin Turbo 84 Camaro Z28. i had to get NHRA certified to drive it. (very tedious). so basically what im asking is, Does anyone else here do some type of racing whether it be drag racing or circle track that they would like to share about?

Damn, I'm very jealous. One of my friends has a '90 Mustang 5.0 that is fully race modded, its sick as fuck and I know he races. My friends stepdad races DTM cars for Audi and sometimes in the Nationwide series as well I believe.
I live relatively close to Infineon Raceway and Laguna Seca, so as soon as I can I'm going to try to get into racing and drive there, but as of now I have too much other stuff to worry about.

Lucky, I would be there weekly :/
Haven't gotten the chance too but would love to drive on a track. Mostly just enjoy the curvey farm roads out in the country. I don't believe in Drags as a form of Racing.... There's not much to it in comparison to Nurburgring type of stuff.

I couldn't agree more, I believe a nice windy road with changing camber or a proper race track is more appealing, but I think there is a lot to be said for that quarter mile (or mile, half mile, etc) power duel that is drag racing, I think they're both great.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE driving on a nice windy back country road. But due to the fact I live less than 10 miles from the drag strip, that has always been my quickest motorsport escape. I greatly appreciate road racing. Driving the nurburgring is on my bucketlist. I know everyone has their own preference in motorsport but for me it's just the raw straight-line horsepower and acceleration that is just so damn fun. When I hear those turbos spool up, the hair stands up on the back of my neck! Damn it's fun! (and outrageously expensive)

When it comes to windy country roads, I got it made. Theres a small mountain (~2600 ft) seperating me from the ocean, and 4 windy roads to get out there, and theyre all great. If any of you have seen that Jaguar commercial where it shows the XJs and XFs racing through a forest, and then the blue one goes around an uphill hairpin turn surrounded by redwood trees, well that is 5 minutes away from my house.
