I read about this on About.com, and it varies. It said specific countries, and the range of averages is 15-20. The median is 18. I'd say the average is about 17.4+ or so. Tho these are averages, they don't have to be met and your first time should happen when you're ready and also when you're protected =]

I was 16 and thats about the average for girls in the UK. Average for boys in the UK is 18 I think.

If you are thinking of having sex yourself (i dont know if you are) the best suggestion (in my opinion) is to wait till our married. in the christain bible it is said that you do wait till your married. i understand your want, but think about the possible consequences.

yeah im not sure, im 17 and a virgin and my bf is just turned 16 and hes a virgin. Ofcourse not, everyone is having sex, but it's very common these days.
I think the average does range 15-21, but are you asking the the average age for the first time? because, yeah any age in there could be people even having it for the 15th time (that's how it looks in my head).
Yes the best thing is to wait until you're ready either way (preferably when you're married) as I am planning to do.

I'd say purely based on people I know somewhere around 15 or 15 and a half. If I were to base my guess more on pop culture I'd say somewhere around 16 and a half.

people's first times from who i know, are like 12-17 but thats out of people i know, but for a normal average i'd say 15-20 or so.

and i wish you wouldn't tell people to wait til marriage, because in a sense thats kind of shoving religion down their throats and some people don't like that, if you want to wait til marriage it's your decision.

If you can, please don't tell them to do as you yourself plan to do, because everyone has their own opinion when it comes to when they feel their ready.
