So, I really want to try weed. My friends have offered to get me high for free and so has my sisters friend who is like part of our family. I don't want to because I'm being pressured I really just want to try. I'm 14, and I don't want to do it constantly or get psychologically addicted or any of that. I know its bad for you but I just want to experiment with it. Any words of wisdom?

Personally I know it may be not very harmful or whatever but I just think its very sketchy and I just don't like the general idea of smoking. I may not be an expert or anything but anything inhaled to your lungs that isn't oxygen is potentially dangerous. I would like to keep my lungs clean.

If you're going to use it, be careful and use it in moderation. Don't go out wandering around after and make sure you're in a secure place, where nothing can really happen. Be safe, use your best judgement.

There is no reason for you to not try it, other than legality. Then again, it's illegal for absolutely no reason.
I do it daily, I get 90's in school, no one knows... :yeah:

I'm almost a straight A student, just one B and I don't want this to get in the way of my school work/ambitions or anything. Which I know that it won't, because I know my limits and all. As for doing it in a secure place, I'm doing it with my sister's bestfriend who is basically a part of my family. I don't know if I mentioned that part or not. She said she'll take care of me, and that she wants me to do it when shes around first so that I know the risks and what it will be like and so I don't do anything dangerous if I do it outside of her supervision.
I don't want my parents to catch me because I don't want to disappoint them but I'm ready to try it out. I just want to experiment with it. Any advice on how to calm my nerves though :x

anything inhaled is dangerous. And even if not physical addictive it can still be mentally addictive.

Well, If its your first time it is unlikely that you will get properly high.
If it is low-quality weed you're trying, it is almost certain that there will be no affect on you at all.
I for one was very disappointed when I tried it. :(

I for one was very disappointed when I tried it. :( Man... I know a method of smoking which pretty much forces the person to inhale the smoke, so they definitely get it right the first time around.

Marijuana smoke is anti-carcinogenic, meaning is prevents the growth of cancerous cells and expels tar and built up dirt from your throat, opposite of most smoke.
When you smoke(or vaporize) cannabis opens up your airways, in turn making it easier for your lungs to naturally clean themselves and is easier to cough up any junk in your throat/lungs. Cannabis is also know to be anti-cancer, so it only helps you in this case.
One more thing, Burning ANYTHING will produce toxic unknown chemicals, whther its tobacco, weed, paper, wood, or your nose hairs/eyebrows, any SMOKE will contain some carcinogenic chemicals. The only way to avoid this is to make edibles.
P.S.Im not saying I do smoke.

In conclusion weed has more pros than cons it does have more tar than cigarettes but most is expelled, it has cancer fighting proprieties, it should not affect your grades unless you let it control your life, and it is not physically addictive.
(I am not condoning the illegal use, purchase, or obtaining of a controlled substance nor do I use, purchase, or obtain controlled substances.)

Of course it's ok! Unless you're not comfortable with yourself using it but really lol it's no different than deciding anything else for yourself. If you want it, do it. If not, then don't! Simple as that

Marijuana isn't horrible for you. If you're only 14, you should wait another year or until you're 16. I didn't start smoking weed until I was 15. I'm 17 now, and have been smoking ever since, and I am not addicted.

If you want to try its your life man, weed for me has opened so many gateways and opportunities, I know it sounds weird but so many of the people I met who I'm good friends with I've met through weed, and they helped me with stuff like studying, getting a job etc.
I'm about to enroll in Certified Nurse Aid classes all because one of my friends who smokes helped me get a job at a nursing home and I get to see the nurses work and I like what they do so now I want to be one. Without it I would probably just be another high schooler with no real idea what I wanna do.
But its your choice man, do it if you really want.

Wait,
So you want to but your don't want to because of peer pressure?
My advice is, if you choose to smoke weed, do it somewhere where you know you are safe, and have a bin nearby in case you throw up. Also, a lot of people say they 'experiment' but can sometimes become hooked, so just be careful. Get the weed from a trusted source as well, in case you are made to take cannabis from a place which can fill it full of chemicals. Remember it is your choice, but these are my responses.

yeah if your being pressured dont do it ! ! once you do it once then they'll keep pressuring you to keep getting high with them. That's totally not true. It's not like in those propagandist commercials, if you tell your friend "Nah I don't want a hit right now", they will just say "Okay" and move on. It's not like people try to force you to do it, man.
I always have to come up with excuses such as that, when I'm approached by people who sell harder drugs. I never want to try any of that stuff, so it's always awkward.

Well I can't promote it, but just look at some facts, a lot of good ones I have seen are here. (http://regulatemarijuana.org/facts) Take a look, and make your choice. It's all up to you.

Well, for an obvious reason, weed is illegal. (I don't know why, it is if cigarettes are legal) but the thing is the weed will stay in your hair, and if you're caught with any, you'll be tested for it and in a lot of trouble. When you're older, and want to make your own decisions, that's fine, but you're 14 and you shouldn't do this now.

It does nothing harmful to you... but yeah, it's illegal. When you're still a teenager, you're usually given lots of free chances in court - so less legal trouble if you tried it when 14 rather than when you're 22. Just saying. :yeah:

1. Weed is illegal for a reason, well a few reasons. The first is that it was hurting the lumber industry, which was a big problem, so in the late '30's, lumber companies started a petition to illegalize marijuana. Needless to say, it was effective. And it was illegalized because of racial reasons. There were many Mexicans and Blacks who started smoking it, and whites did not like it.
2. Any and every drug is harmful. Weed has negative effects. Short term memory loss is one of them. Even my parents who have smoked for 25+ years say that is true. Also, it can harm your lungs. It may not cause cancer, but if you smoke anything; whether it be weed or crack-cocaine, it is still harmful to you.

2. I did not say that it did any permanent damage. It provides short term damage. For a few days up to a week you have some short term memory loss. I know this first hand. And to the lungs, smoke isn't meant to be in the lungs at all. Granted marijuana is less harmful than tobacco smoke, it still hurts it temporarily. It may not cause cancer or and bad things, but it sure doesn't help the lungs.

It does not contain harmful carcinogens.

Hey Mate, I am a straight A student in year 10. Top class for everything, nobody would suspect it, but i have smoked weed for 4 years now.
I would not say its a great thing.
My occupation requires me to travel seasonally at certain places. I can go 2 months straight without it, BUT IT IS ADDICTING. If you are concerned about your grades, do not do it. If you do try it, you may become addicted.
Up to you mate.
There is no better decision, then your own
