Tumblr's blocked.

a few days ago a pop-up appeared on my pc, it was of porn, i think porn is wrong. my mum saw it, and demanded i never go on the site that gave me the pop-up, it was a blogging site called tumblr. i have been still going on it, for reasons i will explain later. but ive just found out my mum has blocked it, so I cant access it from my laptop, or ipod.

the reason i was still on it, and am so upset about this is that, i have 2 blogs, and one is an advice one, and I give advice to people daily, people who self-harm, suffer from depression, eating disorders, and suicidal thoughts. and I cant bare the thought that someone might kill themselves, because I couldnt get back to them.

But i cant tell my mum I know its blocked, because she would know that Ive been trying to go on it, and I cant tell her I run an advice blog, she would'nt like it, she'd think im taking to pervs, or giving my details away. when all ive been doing is helping other people...

what can I do?

The best thing to do is to call your mum over when you use the laptop and ask her to unblock it just so you can show her what tumblr is, show her the dashboard if you have to, just say its somewhere for you to get out what you're feeling and its been helpful to you for things like noting down work, things you have to do etc. Just jam it up a little. The best thing to do as well is to make sure your pop up blocker is working to make sure none of those porn things can come up in other windows but the issue with tumblr is some people are going to be reblogging things that may be inappropriate.

Im sorry. I have lots of things blocked on my computer, things like "online chat" and "social networking" can be taken from me in an instant. My parents are able to check up on IM's, computer activity, limiting my time and basically anything I do on the internet so I completely know how you feel.
The only thing I can suggest is finding somewhere else to run this blog from. A friends house or a library somewhere? Tumblr really isn't that bad a website so maybe give her a few weeks and she'll come around to letting you have it again. Also if you have internet on your phone then you could acess it from there which is what i've been doing.
I'm sorry you have this to put up with, it's the most annoying thing but there is also not much you can do about it.

But I agreed to stay off it, saying I was fine not going on it, this was before I knew she would block it. So how could I get her to unblock it, as in without seeming like ive suddenly changed my mind?

I cant show her my dashboard, because there is some things on there about self-harm, she knows about that, but she would find it innapropriate for me to have it on my tumblr, its nothing bad or anything, its just like the 30-day-self-harm-challenge, and the butterfly project. So I might do that, once ive gone to the libary, and made a new clean account I can show her :/
