So about 4 months ago I added a few kids who are mega popular, so they either said no or ignored the request on fb. So slowly one at a time, a few here and there added me. And now I just added the super popular kid who I was waiting to receive an answer from, which had been a good 4-5 months. What made him just now add me? I find it weird, cause like if I new someone recently ignored my friend request I'd send another one in like 2 months or so. But he ignored the request he didn't, delete it. So he just left it there for him to wait to say yes or no. Didn't delete it so it'd give me another chance to resend just left it so I'd have to wait to see if he said yes or no.

I'm failing to see how any of us can give advice on this since we don't really know many details... And besides, is it really all that big of a deal to you?

No one just curious why all the sudden they added me.

It's strange, I'll give you that. I can't say why they just added you now though.
What's really odd is that they kept the request and didn't just ignore it.

Maybe they were just after the higher number of friends, or maybe they will raid your profile, and find something embarrassing and use it against you.

Urm, they probably just wanted to boost up their numbers to look like they have more friends or something. I honestly wouldnt worry about it, if you don't like them or don't know them or just feel awkward having them see your profile them delete/block them. Simple.

They most likely kept it to avoid another one being sent, thats usually what i do, or that he didn't know who it was and didn't know if he knew him or not.
Tbh its not uncommon for people from school to add you its probably not a big deal. Its when they all start adding you in big groups you start to wonder whats going on. They're probably just curious.

It's not like I kept sending one after another, I just did it every 3-5 months, but mostly if I knew they knew me.

In all honesty it really isn't a big deal and that's what Facebook's for anyway, without friends it would be nothing.

some people just go for numbers, not for the quality of the friends. I don't want to say anything offensive but some people prefer adding someone they are at least slightly close with and not just thinking "where have I seen this guy?".
I can't see why it is such a big deal.

To put it bluntly
Facebook friends mean nothing, even if they know you in real life.
Hey I added people I know but hey I don;t hang out with then very much.
You just need to look at this and say okay they added me.
Your overlooking this.
People add randoms and friends they know however they do not necessarily care about or even register who they are adding.
Overall
its nothing.

This is probably the best post in this thread, to keep it short and sweet, facebook friends are meaningless. If I considered all of my facebook friends to actually be my friends I would probably have to get some things sorted out in my life.

This happened to me a few times. Like, I sent a request to some of my childhood friends, but a lot of them didn't add me. Slowly, they added me one by one. I figured out that it was because they didn't recognize me, and that I was going by a nickname instead of the name they remember me by...

Some people just add others on Facebook randomly, even if they've denied their requests in the past. Facebook is basically an internet popularity contest.

Why not? Maybe they just were looking at friend requests and noticed your request.

A. They want more friends
B. They don't want any more requests
or C. They like generally like you so they accepted
I'm goin' with letter A...
