I'm torn between picking two games. My mom said I can only get one and I can't decide between Pokemon Black or Pokemon SoulSilver. Which one do you people think I should choose?

It completely depends on you. SoulSilver has more of a... "loving" pokemon feel to it. Your pokemon follow you, you get the Pokewalker to take them with you, etc. But Black is by far more superior in a lot more areas:
1. More players (Very important if you battle/trade online)
2. More pokemon
3. More moves
So, what do you do more?

Thank's everyone, I've decided actually to get White instead of Black because my friend has Black. I don't want to have the same Pokemon as him.

SoulSilver is more fun, I found Black pretty boring tbh... however on black you can battle people online and it works on WPA connections until SoulSilver

soulsilver has a longer story and post game (16 gyms, and a whole other region) , and more familier pokemon so it may not feel like a new adventure. also it has less pokemon avaliable (still alot, like 400 +) it also has the battle fronteir, and the pokewalker and is overall more difficult than BW
black and white however, is a new adventure, no older pokemon till the post game. better story (for pokemon standerds), but easier, forces you to use new pokemon, the pokemon are overall stronger, and the post game is shorter, and the online capabilities are much better
