How were you asked to homecoming/prom?

I know a lot of schools have kind of a tradition of coming up with an inventive way to ask your date to prom or homecoming. I also know that coming up with something usually sucks. So I figure this thread will help anyone else with a similar issue...

How did you date ask you to homecoming (Or prom, or Tolo, or whatever)? How did you ask them? Any particular ideas that you thought were really cute, any you thought were weird?

The only time I went to homecoming, my date had given me a CD with some songs on it a few days earlier, so I gave the CD back to her with "Homecoming?" written on it. Another friend asked their date by writing it on the bottom of a box of donuts.

well i know thiss guy, he asked a girl through facebook, by making a sorta banner on a long piece of paper, then writing random love stuff something like, -Name will you go with me to the prom-
Try handing her a rose with a letter or...
Depends on wut the girl likes, utilize that example i the girl likes zombies, dress as one then like hand her a letter or something like that

Well I wasn't asked, but I asked a girl to go with me, she said yes :P I just asked her if she would like to go, simple and casually. You don't need to make it a big deal or anything, just ask!

Not so much when you're out of junior high :P It gets pretty corny and tacky.

I wasn't asked, because who wants to take a cow to prom?

We have junior prom at my school, and last year when I was a junior I wanted to take a sophomore. So, since it wasn't his prom I asked him. I said "I want you to take me to prom." And that was that.

Before Christmas, a girl in my school asked her friend to ask me out to the prom for her (I don't know why she didn't ask me herself). I rejected the offer and decided not to even go to the prom (which is in May) because at the time I already had a perfect lovely girlfriend which they didn't know about.

But my girlfriend dumped me last week and I'm heartbroken, I didn't do anything wrong she just randomly started hating me :(
